I got trained with Sabre Red Crossfire mk 3.5 today, the Stream spray, not the cone like this one, it fucking SUCKS.... i had a reaction to it so bad that I had to have an ambulance come and flush my eyes with saline x___x
One of my friends almost got raped a few days ago by a bunch of idiots. Hopefully the police came before anything happened. So I've just bought a pepper spray of 18%. I think every girl should owe one in case something like that happens.
lol i remembered when i was a kid, i aws really careless and forgot pepper burns.. so we had this ripe small red peppers in our back yard.. i crushed them up.. and my eyes started itching lol.. the pain was horrible
I would think in a "real life" encounter it would be worse for a bad guy since there is no warning to close your eyes and open back up after spraying. Someone who feels threatened pulling it out from a concealed spot quickly would have that element of surprise.
Everyone looks fucking stupid doing this training...I think its stupid cuz once that happens to you...your fucked dumb training...this country is better than that
Is saber red much more painful than OC? I got OCed today for the first time and just that was way enough. Of course I could still fight in the first minute or so but after that its about 25 minutes of pure pain.
I'm A First responds Officer in The Bahamas, I've been Tased & Sprayed with Sabre Red For training, I Carry Both Taser & Pepper Spray as Back up But I Switched To WildFire Riot 9 oz Pepper Spray. Got called out to a Gang fight at a Party, came one second late. saw a gang member got fatally stabbed to the heart, Sprayed the fighters Down. I won't Lie to you, I got abit for the Backlash, Saber Red felt Nothing like this Stuff, The Crowd disburse in less that 10 sec wildFire over Saber Red Any day.
@MrQuackism I think they got sprayed to learn how to deal with the potential situation of criminals armed with self-defense sprays or lacrimogen gas. At least, In Argentina, police officers are trained in the same way with that purpose. Sorry for my bad english.
@MrQuackism i think its so they know what it feels like so they dont use it lightly or something like that. or incase they get sprayed or if there spray gets a little in there face so they can keep fighting. idk.
Do you have to get OC Sprayed at the academy if you have asthma? (mild of course because you wouldn't be allowed to enlist if you are a sever asthmatic).
i had to use this stuff on 2 guys that were trying to rob me. i was using the civilian stuff but i caught some blowback from it in my one eye and its effective. it had my one eye tearing up and burning for and hour, even a little after i rinsed it.
@mycrimsonregrets Were you using a stream or cone type of delivery system? How effective was the spray against your targets? If you wouldn't mind, I would like to hear the details of what happened.
@FlyinZX10R sure, no problem. i was using the stream type and i believe it was 10% oc. it seemed to be pretty effective on them as they got the full dose and the tiny bit i got in my eye closed my eye up right away, it started tearing up and i could at least see. adrenaline was also probably a factor. i wish it was more concentrated and had more shots per can. i went with the smaller one due to being able to pull it out and not struggle getting it out of my pocket.
@mycrimsonregrets you probably used the one where its like a shotgun and expels the entire pepper spray in one blast, my mom has one and when i used it on the ground it came back at me like a bitch and i was on the floor in less than i second
The recruits and I had to keep our eyes open when we got sprayed and if we closed them before we got hit....we'd get another spray of it...that was not a fun day
I'm getting sprayed with Fox 5.3 next month for certification. I currently carry Sabre CS (1.5% CS). That's right, straight CS mace. I've never had it not affect someone. It's brutal. It's far better than that junk Def Tec 5.5% PepperMace crap we use to use.
Love comments like 'sabre red sucks' & 'CS is worse- I done been in da army'
I use gas for a living, in a prison. CS sux. Inmates (and officers) can work thru it & keep fighting. OC/CS mixtures (like Freeze+P) hurt worse than CS, breathing is still tough, but doesn't hurt AT ALL for a few seconds. Sabre Red (10%) = instant total blindness and brutal pain. We were ready for it, but surprise someone with it & it's over. Max-lvl J3's with nothing to lose are vicious adversaries. Sabre ends aggro.
Excellent post. I used to carry Sabre Red DPS, but have switched to Fox 5.3. Ive tested a few of the sprays on myself and Fox is by far the worst and fastest acting.
@WreckedDixie I actually got hit with the Sabre Red friday. It was a water based fogger with the marking agent. It looked very similar to what was sprayed here. But yes.. Sabre Red was an excruciating pain that compares to nothing else I've ever delt with before. As far as quickness, Sabre was pretty fast acting. I've heard from several people that were in the military that CS is not as bad as OC and that out of Freeze plus P and Sabre Red, Freeze is a little worse. But still.. it sucked.
Ouch! Tomorrow Ill be going through almost the same thing (Im a recruit at The Swedish National Police Academy). Im looking forward to it in some strange way =)
@iQsLukeMc I was calm and did all the drills quite well (hitting mitses, spraying an 'agresseive man' with OC, ordering him to the ground and then cuff him) - but man, the pain was even worse than I thought it would be. Before the drill the teacher said to us: You wonder if it will hurt!? It will not hurt! It will hurt as hell! =)
@Masalind0 Yes it does! We trained ice rescue, swimming in ice cold water the day after the OC drill and I'm telling you, I prefere the ice cold water before OC =)
yeah, its hot, but doesn't work as fast or as effective as something like Fox Labs. The Vexor produces alot of heat, but it has a slow buildup and is designed not to effect a persons breathing. I've had Vexor, Fox and Sabre Red DPS in my face, and the Fox Labs was the worse to experience of any of them. it was near panic level pain.
Sabre Advanced is 1.5%CS and I don't know the % of OC in the blend, but the MC value is .33%. So this spray is mostly CS with a little pepper. The Sabre Red has 1.33% major capsaicinoids.
Sabre makes a level 1 spray called Sabre Defense which is 10% OC, .33%MC. So Sabre advanced would be like combining Sabre Defense and Sabre CS.
oh thats not fair when i got sprayed for my academy i had to keep my eyes open and take it straight on. i wish i could have kept my eyes closed. to make it worse i had my contacts in big mistake....
Yep - OC spray sucks hardcore. I stood in an icy cold shower for 30 minutes after I got sprayed in training. Not fun stuff. My advice: don't get pepper sprayed!
Well, they look like fairly tough, macho cops, so f*ck you to all those twats who disrespect people for screaming when maced or tazed by the cops, even the cops don't f*cking like it. (Must get me some of that stuff for the NWO).
I been in law enforcement six years and had to recert again today. Hurt as bad this time as the first 23 times I had to pass the training. Build a tolerance my ass. Love the video though, oh and good luck rookie.
My class we got shot and had to break up a fight with 2 guys in redman suits and get them cuffed.... this looks about the same but with your firearm? Why?
the UDAP spray is actually 1.33% crc, not 13.3. I've walked into an area that i had fired my UDAP spray and some of it was still airborne enough to get into my eyes. I dropped my spray and covered my eyes. mt second reaction was to put my hands on my vehicle to feel more secure since i couldnt see. I believe they have a 3.0 crc spray available now too.
yes, sabre red is strong and will burn ! I just got sprayed for training and sabre red is no joke! the guy that thinks law enforcement sabre red is weak is smoking some good ganja!
I think the stuff in the red can is the foam, but im not sure. The blue can is the water based spray and the black can is the alcohol based spray. Trust me, get the black. (The Sabre Red DPS)
I use Fox Labs, and Sabre, Fox Labs hurts way more and is better quality, but Sabre is better for your walet, and you can barely tell it hurts slighty less. Also Sabre generally has more shots in it.
yes, it is red dye. It's added so you know where you're spraying and if you hit your subject where you wanted to hit him. And the guy who said that Sabre red(new version) is weak, must be on crack. In all my law enforcement years, i've been sprayed a few times, recently for training with Sabre Red, and it is by far the strongest and most painful version up to date.
I have a regular Sabre spray that came with a compact keychain spray. I actually sprayed myself with it by accident like a dumbass (take it as a training class) and it burns like hell... Plus i only caught the mist, it burned my eyes, cut my breathing to half and lasted like 5 minutes and disabled me from doing anything for about 30 minutes.. So we probably got the same thing without the red dye... My mace has the UV dye, so.... Im good i think.
I am going through Mobile Police Academy. We use the water base SR and it is no freakin joke. The only problem I see these other academies are doing is not enough training after the spray. We had an opsticle course the length of a football field to complete befroe we got any help with decon!!!
Probably not, as true Sabre Red is called just that Sabre Red, and is police issue only. A lot of the stuff at sporting good stores is Pepper Spray or Mace.....not nearly as potent.
tbh sabre red is quite weak i used one which is supposldy the strongest, i think it was called wildfire i could be wrong but thats what i heard and it f**cking hurts haha!
yall think Sabre Red is something. I got sprayed with some stuff called Top Cop in training yesterday and it's oil-based and burned all day long and some of today too!! It's a bad feeling!!!!! lol
I would say its a toss up between either one. The Fox Labs works slightly faster, but the Sabre Red burns alot longer and comes out with alot more force/speed. I believe the quality control is better on the Sabre Red than the Fox Labs, as every batch of OC for the Sabre Red is HPLC tested for consistency. Ive heard of the Fox Labs spray testing as low as .33 crc, while the Sabre Red is guaranteed to be 1.33 crc. Both of them will do the job though. I just prefer the Sabre Red.
I was just sprayed with Vector yesterday for Corrections Training. I am here to attest that it sucks big time. I can only say that it felt like someone sprayed me with a blow torch for 30 consecutive minutes. Kudos for all of my fellow law enforcement and soldiers that have had it.
Yeah... you should bring whatever you can to a gun fight. If "only" spray, it's better than no spray. "Never use spray on a person that has a gun or knife" is very bad advice. Use what's available and what the situation warrants.
OC is alot more effective than CS. OC works on people who have a high tolerance for pain or are psychotic. OC takes effect in about a second, while CS can take up to 20 seconds to get working. OC is also in inflammatory agent, which causes the eyes to swell and tear, causing temporary blindness, the nose to swell shut and discharge mucous, the mouth, throat and lungs also swell and make it very difficult to breathe. Lots of coughing, sneezing and burning too.
I've seen both OC & CS sprays have zero effect on people under the influence of drugs or mentally deranged. These sprays only work on normal people. And never use a defense spray on a person that has a gun or knife because they will still use that weapon against you.
I've sprayed the same person on 2 occasions. He was a heavy coke user. The first time was with stream of CN tear gas, and on another occasion with a blast of Capstun OC. They both worked, and the element of surprise made them both more effective. On the 3rd occasion that he threatened me, I showed him my 1911 .45 acp and never saw him again after that.
It seems that this "heavy coke user" keeps returning and harassing you. Why have you never called the police? Twice you sprayed him and once you pulled a pistol on him. Obviously this coke head wants something you have.
This was many years ago. The first time I sprayed him cuz he punched my friend in the face. Later he attacked me because i had sprayed him before. We went to the cops both times but they wouldn't do anything. I told the cops that next time he attacked I would shoot him. They said they would then arrest me. They wont arrest the criminal, but they will arrest the law abiding citizen defending themselves. I made a complaint to the DA about the cops + the DA forced the cops to make an arrest.
It was about 20 years ago that I sprayed him. If that nutcase comes around again, i'll hose him with my Sabre Red DPS. Other things I like about the Sabre Red DPS (and all SEC products) is strict quality control. Their "DPS" units also use Dymel 134a/P as a propellent, which mixes with the carrier and allows more fluid in the can, makes the last shot just as powerful as the first, and propels the liquid out with alot of force/speed. They also HPLC test every batch for heat consistency.
man you're right! fucking cops ,they protect the criminals
more then the citizen.that's make me fucking sick!
good thing you didn't shoot him because they would arrest you for sure!and now you could be in jail while this crack-head son of a bitch could be walking down the streets!
me,i got oc spray,a pocket knife and a pocket gun!
i also practice some martial arts.
i got attacked a few years ago , my girl-friend too, only
what's the difference between regular sabre red and Sabre red DPS unit? and why doesn't DPS unit show up on their website? is it for police only? I believe those are the one with blue canister with flip top.
blue canister Sabre red is water based. Sabre red DPS is oil based. SABRE red DPS and H20are law enforcement forumlations but civilians may buy them also.
haha, man, they got to close their eyes, that's not fair. We had to have ours open, talk about your eyeball on fire...I couldn't even feel it on my skin it was all about the eyeballs.
Are you sure you read it properly ? I just have my can of sabre red standing next to me on the table and on the tag it says "10% OC" - that would be quite a bit stronger than 1.33% :-)
Oh that's cool thanks a lot for your answer.Oc and Cs in one spray? that sounds nasty but i think that is prohibited in germany, anyway from what i've heared the Sabre Red Pepper is hot enough :D
Thank you - so most manufacturers try to cheat you with this percentage. As a normal consumer OI would think that First Defense and Sabre Red are of equal strenght due to the percentages. So I was lucky to follow the recommendation of teh American Rifle´s dealer association when I bought it :-)
I got trained with Sabre Red Crossfire mk 3.5 today, the Stream spray, not the cone like this one, it fucking SUCKS.... i had a reaction to it so bad that I had to have an ambulance come and flush my eyes with saline x___x

Can anyone tell me the difference between a SABRE RED MK3 RED CAN and a SABRE RED MK3 LAW ENFORCEMENT BLUE CAN ? Thx.
HolyShiitMan 2 years ago
I think the stuff in the red can is the foam, but im not sure. The blue can is the water based spray and the black can is the alcohol based spray. Trust me, get the black. (The Sabre Red DPS)

I use Fox Labs, and Sabre, Fox Labs hurts way more and is better quality, but Sabre is better for your walet, and you can barely tell it hurts slighty less. Also Sabre generally has more shots in it.

worse fucking feeling ever!!! omg this shit suxxxxxxx
orjela22 2 years ago
yes, it is red dye.
TheTherapist1974 2 years ago
I have a regular Sabre spray that came with a compact keychain spray. I actually sprayed myself with it by accident like a dumbass (take it as a training class) and it burns like hell... Plus i only caught the mist, it burned my eyes, cut my breathing to half and lasted like 5 minutes and disabled me from doing anything for about 30 minutes.. So we probably got the same thing without the red dye... My mace has the UV dye, so.... Im good i think.
12GaugeLosAngeles 2 years ago
Sabre Red is good stuff. I use it at work and it's rated at 2,000,000 SHU... so yeah, whoever said it was weak was on crack.

do they add red dye or something

I am going through Mobile Police Academy. We use the water base SR and it is no freakin joke. The only problem I see these other academies are doing is not enough training after the spray. We had an opsticle course the length of a football field to complete befroe we got any help with decon!!!
tony7574 2 years ago
Sabre Red is pretty effective. Its rated at 2,00,000 SHU. Its what I use on duty and what I use to train my cadets at the academy.
FUBAR956 3 years ago
I just got a 70 gram bottle i got from a sporting goods store... It just says Sabre, the letters are red, is it the same stuff?
12GaugeLosAngeles 2 years ago
Probably not, as true Sabre Red is called just that Sabre Red, and is police issue only. A lot of the stuff at sporting good stores is Pepper Spray or Mace.....not nearly as potent.

so is sabre red better than fox labs????
NIKON777 3 years ago

Here in spain we can buy only the CS spray.
the OC is much better no?

CS & OC sprays are almost the same garbage. Remember never bring a spray to a gun fight.
XL4U 3 years ago
You should bring your spray to a gun fight, along with your gun. Not every situation warrants deadly force.
FlyinZX10R 3 years ago
Yeah... you should bring whatever you can to a gun fight. If "only" spray, it's better than no spray. "Never use spray on a person that has a gun or knife" is very bad advice. Use what's available and what the situation warrants.

yes oc spray is more effective than CS in incapacitating people.

You can buy Sabre Red OC in Spain!!! is legal!!!!
(puedes comprarlo en España, es legal, mira por ejemplo la pagina de armeria la jungla, alli he comprado ya 4 a unos 15-18 euros...)
salu2!!!!
frandekai 3 years ago
OC is alot more effective than CS. OC works on people who have a high tolerance for pain or are psychotic. OC takes effect in about a second, while CS can take up to 20 seconds to get working. OC is also in inflammatory agent, which causes the eyes to swell and tear, causing temporary blindness, the nose to swell shut and discharge mucous, the mouth, throat and lungs also swell and make it very difficult to breathe. Lots of coughing, sneezing and burning too.
FlyinZX10R 3 years ago
I've seen both OC & CS sprays have zero effect on people under the influence of drugs or mentally deranged. These sprays only work on normal people. And never use a defense spray on a person that has a gun or knife because they will still use that weapon against you.
XL4U 3 years ago
I've sprayed the same person on 2 occasions. He was a heavy coke user. The first time was with stream of CN tear gas, and on another occasion with a blast of Capstun OC. They both worked, and the element of surprise made them both more effective. On the 3rd occasion that he threatened me, I showed him my 1911 .45 acp and never saw him again after that.
FlyinZX10R 3 years ago
It seems that this "heavy coke user" keeps returning and harassing you. Why have you never called the police? Twice you sprayed him and once you pulled a pistol on him. Obviously this coke head wants something you have.
XL4U 3 years ago
This was many years ago. The first time I sprayed him cuz he punched my friend in the face. Later he attacked me because i had sprayed him before. We went to the cops both times but they wouldn't do anything. I told the cops that next time he attacked I would shoot him. They said they would then arrest me. They wont arrest the criminal, but they will arrest the law abiding citizen defending themselves. I made a complaint to the DA about the cops + the DA forced the cops to make an arrest.
FlyinZX10R 3 years ago
If the coke head comes back again, get a bat and use his head as a baseball. Then he'll be a crack head :o)

Jesus, that's terrible. I'm glad you took action. It's always a few jackasses making a bad name for everyone else.
TheDoof1 3 years ago 2
It was about 20 years ago that I sprayed him. If that nutcase comes around again, i'll hose him with my Sabre Red DPS. Other things I like about the Sabre Red DPS (and all SEC products) is strict quality control. Their "DPS" units also use Dymel 134a/P as a propellent, which mixes with the carrier and allows more fluid in the can, makes the last shot just as powerful as the first, and propels the liquid out with alot of force/speed. They also HPLC test every batch for heat consistency.

water based sabre red mk3 has 10 bursts sabre red DPs mk3 has like 30

what's the difference between regular sabre red and Sabre red DPS unit? and why doesn't DPS unit show up on their website? is it for police only? I believe those are the one with blue canister with flip top.
sfbong800 3 years ago
blue canister Sabre red is water based. Sabre red DPS is oil based. SABRE red DPS and H20are law enforcement forumlations but civilians may buy them also.

Are you sure you read it properly ? I just have my can of sabre red standing next to me on the table and on the tag it says "10% OC" - that would be quite a bit stronger than 1.33% :-)

Hi seems like you know a lot about Sabre Red. I've bought an Sabre Red P-22 is that one good?
I've chose it because it's so small and perfect to carry... Do you have any experiences with the P-22?

Thank you - so most manufacturers try to cheat you with this percentage. As a normal consumer OI would think that First Defense and Sabre Red are of equal strenght due to the percentages. So I was lucky to follow the recommendation of teh American Rifle´s dealer association when I bought it :-)
