I read a short while back that this tribe actually got their knowledge of a "dark star" from christian missionaries a number of years back. I don't remember where I read that so, take it for what it's worth... some guy on the YouTube comments board saying something! LOL!

Of all the theories in In Search Of... most are crackpot, but this one sounds fascinating, and pretty clever, too. I can't believe I've never heard of this before.
