  • Very well done Dude! I don't see all those who criticize on here! Hendrix was out of tune most of the time live! Well done with balls!

  • @davonwav he was in tune when he started playing ;)

  • Bad relic job.

  • nice guitar (not)

  • Sounds great , but that guitar is just STOOPID. Stay away from the screwdriver!

  • What happened to your guitar???How old is it??

  • Ok, the guitar wasn't tuned the best, not the best condition and he messed up a few times. Yet this is one of the best Slow dancing improvs on youtube. The dirtiness of it just made it more interesting imo

  • Thats the guitar that John Mayer played at Wembley, so must be the man...

  • can people please shut their opinionated asses the fuck up about the guitar?

  • oh, u got a new guitar NICE !!!!

  • yeah dude you fucked up

  • Guarantee this guy is dead due to slicing his wrist open on a shard of wood after this deplorable attempt at relic'ing a guitar...

  • yeah, paint sanded off is one thing, but missing chunks of wood is pretty bad.

  • anyone get the bright idea that its not a real strat.......O_o

  • Comment removed

  • This guy, in a guitar store

Jingwa- "It is impossible to tune it properly, I have a problem with intonation..I need help"

Guitartech- (Shaking his head)- It is a miracle the fret board is still attached... What were you thinking :-)

Seriously dude, you are NOT bad, but damaging your strat to make it look like Mayers...is NOT cool.

  • It is NOT out of tune. The poor strat is crying...".aj..aj.....aj ...you guys don`t have any idea what this guy put me through to make me look like Mayers strat.. HELP me...".

  • That guitar looks purposefully messed up to look like john's, not cool.

  • @dwdrummerboi Is it cool that John purposefully messed his up then? Like Stevie Ray Vaughan...

  • Impressive. Pickguard and hardware are mint! Luckily they seem unaffected from the accident. Thanks goodness!

  • Sounds very nice! Everyone please check out some of my guitar videos on my channel! Comment and subscribe! <3

    -Cat

  • Good playing, certainly. BUt these are the funniest comments I've seen on a guitar video. "What car did you drag your strat behind?" had me laughing out loud. This is awesome.

  • Horrible sound, great playing.

  • I don't get it, when people sees John Mayer's beat-up guitar, they say its "vintage and must've been used really well." But when this kid plays with a guitar almost like John's, they say he used a car and dragged it.....

  • your guitar has absolutely no sustain.

  • I'm interested in relicing my guitar and I need some advices. What car did you use to drag your strat?

  • @jujucaster LOLOLOL

  • @jujucaster

It would have to be an expensive car, otherwise it will mess up the tone.

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan style guitar :D

  • what happened to your guitar?

  • You play very well dude! Well Done, great work! ;)

Just a thing about your guitar: if you leave the wood without any kind of protection, the direct contact with air and humidity will destroy it in few years ;) Call a lutist and save this beautiful guitar :D

  • @Gino2891 dude, that's why you don't play outside too often. Stevie Ray barely played outside and his guitar still looks like it did in 1989.

  • This is just my opinion, but in my opinion it was a mistake to ruin that guitar.

  • Trying to make it look like Mayers Black one or SRV's signature guitar I guess...

  • The only way im gonna age my guitar is by playing it untill it the paint actually wears off.

  • @WhitePowerRanger17 Try taking the thing on tour with you. It won't take 6 weeks and it'll look ruined!

  • the way you raped your guitar affects the sound of the wood... this looked like it has been battered up hitlers asshole.

  • try nitro finish next time

  • @zeppelin5100 Yup, another 2 sticks of nitro ought to do it ..... just use a long fuse so you can get away quick enough.

  • this is not relic , this is Broken guitar

  • absolutely amazing playing skill, but obviously the guitar is out of tune. Love the beat-up, looks-like-it-was-just-pulled-from-a-freakin-swamp, saved-from-a-wood-chipper look actually.

There's no wrong way to relic a guitar, as long as it still sounds good :)

  • What a bunch of bullcrap comments. Great playing man!

  • Could've used sand paper. Poor strat looks like it got dragged behind a car ;___;

  • Watch out! you might get a splinter from that thing!

  • @OttoAndMusic hahahaha, really right? if your gonna relic something at least put the research in how to do it haha

  • @wtfeezey how do you relic something Properly? isnt the point of it to look old? whats your point douche-b? if your gonna diss someone at least put the research in how to do it haha

  • @BurgerGrabber Place paint remover on spots where the most wear would be. Use a screw driver scrape off paint to simulate small crackings of paint (and maybe to put nicks into the guitar as well). To make the wood look aged you must sand past the sealer (as you progress with the sanding use higher grades of sandpaper.Use wood stain of your choice (recommend a dark color for a better aged look). I could make a tutorial off self experience buddy. You aint gonna find what i know on google. Burn ;)

  • @BurgerGrabber oh and if you want me to put my "relic" up id be glad to. Youd piss your pants after your comment ;)

  • People have to understand, that finding a tab isnt the important part. People say they havent found a good tab because they think that they should instantly be able to play it by looking at the tab. most tabs of this are exactly the notes, they just don't understand the timing, or just dont understand tablature. If you cant try and learn by ear if not at least a youtube lesson, you aren't ready to be playing things this advanced.

  • Dude, your LOW E is so out of tune as well as your G string, how do you not hear that?

  • Man... I hate to say it but that guitar is not in tune... However... The playing was nice. Keep going... Just work on making sure you are in tune!

  • isso AWE! manda muito prabens cara!

  • what the hell did you do to that poor guitar

  • Is this is solid state amp? Playing is fab but the tone is not quite there

  • Very well done! I hate when people pick things apart because someone misses one note or something isn't 100% perfect. The majority of people don't normally play like they're in a studio releasing a cd, and for the most part I prefer that! Feeling beats perfection.

  • dude, don't tell me, that you wasted your guitare?!

  • a little trebbly, you might wanna switch down the tone knob just a tad down otherwise good

  • keep going kid, your off to a great start, best wishes

  • im sure that guitar wasnt like that when you bought it

  • Tune up next time, buddy.

  • out of tune... dont really like the sound either

  • @Rickardlindgrens Totally Agree

  • Wow! LOVE!

  • is that a squire? or did you actually do that to a strat

  • Nice Guitar!

  • tune the god damn guitar

you play too well for an out of tune guitar

  • @Silencer84 absolutely, its annoying because he is good, it just sounds awful cuz its out of tune.

  • out of tune

  • Do you ever get splinters? ;-)

  • Relicing a guitar, the way you did it is just plain stupid. Relicing your guitar by playng gigs with it over the course of many years is the way to do it.

  • I suggest tuning the bastard!

    Great vid though

  • this is flipping beast man, good shit. :)

  • guitar relicing fail but youre playing is awesome man keep it up

  • what did that poor strat ever do to you??

  • Intonate and then Tune that Guitar! Get a Set-Up! Hurts my ears!

(not the playing...the Strat is way out of tune...)

  • What is he doing when 0:19? sweeping upwards with index finger !? I am very interested in learning this!

  • Why did you intentionally destroy your guitar like that? Looks awfull.. But nice playing..

  • nice guitar except for that one ding.

  • that guitar looks like a piece of crap dude. There's a difference between relicing and destroying something. it looks like it was chopped at with an axe.

  • Hey man, i hate relicing, but i have to say, you did a really good job.

    Also you play well.

  • what gears did u use?

  • ive seen road worn but never road worn where it looks like somebody literally ran over it with a semi

  • Damn fine job, my man!

  • relic fail

  • horrible relic...

  • you need to tune up

  • Pretty good playing. Weird relic job. haha But are you missing some notes? it looks like you're playing a note but nothing comes out. it might just be me

  • i think you went overboard with the relic look. youre an awesome player though with really nice tone.

  • Did you relic that with a screw driver ?

  • Who gives a shit about the relic job? It's his guitar, let him do what he wants and what looks good to him. Having an exact replica of a relic is fucking stupid anyway.

  • BIG relic fail, Tune the guitar.....fine playing.......

  • if you stained the exposed wood a darker colour, I don't think it would look too bad

  • Tune it and it will sound great.

  • A little ambitious with the sandpaper, or sand blaster, or rock, whatver you used.

  • little hands..... you know what that means.....

  • great playing, but the relic job is awful. tuning would help too.

  • your a great player but the relic needs some practice....

  • Was that necessary to do to your guitar?

  • sick playing dude.very very awesome :D

  • Need to tune..but good playing man!

  • Pretty sick playing. how old are you and how long have you been playing guitar?

  • which two rock is this?

  • i dig that guitar bud

  • why would u beat your guitar to shit like that? I have a mexican strat just like that one and I would never even remotely consider doing that to it...seems almost like sacrilege.

oh and great playing by the way. You've got the vibe down, and you seem like you're pretty young as well.

  • Great playing. but its out of tune.. You should have tuned it after dragging it in a car, I know strats stay in tune well, but come on, haha

  • thats a super work on the guitar ,... I especially like that fact that you are ear trained well!!

  • ye man - that was freakin' awesome... keep up man. good tone!

  • I'd have to agree, this is the best cover I've heard of this song so far, incredible playing bro

  • this two rock sounds like shit :)

  • did you put your guitar into a crusher or something because man that relic was a mess

  • you beat the shit out of that thing! haha nice cover tho sounded great

  • Lol, the body looks like its from 1950, but the pickguard looks shiny new..

  • @Fi1oMark

It's called artistic license. You know, improvisation. There's no such thing as "right." It's *like* the way John plays it. Not a carbon copy. Where's the fun in limiting yourself to one path that's already been taken? Try being less narrow minded.

  • Uhh, to everyone being a douche about him not having just let it wear normally, you can't really relic poly naturally because it's just a really, really thick plastic coat. And it's cheaper than buying another guitar with a nitro finish that WILL age. Give him a break. Great playing!

  • groovy

  • you must have a bad insurance coverage :) that guitar looks totaled :) amazing playing.

  • don't get how ppl post shit on youtube when they still can't do it right

  • poor fender...hack saw accident?

  • what the hell have you done to your strat!!! looks like youve given it a lion to play with it for an hour or so! lol.......good playing though ;)

  • your shit.

  • Just let it relic over time...that wasnt a good idea to just try to trash your guitar to make it look as if its vintage(which it doesnt) just let it age naturally with age...then it will be legit!

  • Really nice!

  • so relic man! good job on that.. haha!

  • Pickup position should be in the middle, you'll get more of that same tone out of it. Good job though. My only criticism is to quiet your slaps at the beginning. Meaning, it's playing notes when it shouldn't. Nothing against it, just criticism never hurt anyone.

  • sounds good, just work on your timing a little bit. Some points seem to get off track and seem out of place.

  • the relic looks way too heavy to be authentic .... and well... ur pickguard, knobs, and pickup cover are snow white.... doesnt match the heavy relic.

    but great playing mate :)

  • dude tell me you have a tab for this, i've been trying to play it but i'm having a tough time picking out exactly what your doing. the last part of this is fantastic. this is the best cover i've heard of this so far, nice work.

  • @alliwantisyou4 sorry bro..i dont use tabs..

  • @jingwah Right..

  • dude beautiful playing, but why did you do that to such a beautiful guitar??? the job isn't that bad just over done. just save up for the real thing.

  • Would rather have a guitar worn from playing rather than wannabe :P

  • it's coming along great.. it's a little rough in spots but the feels definitely there which is what really matters .. sounds really musical.. sweet tone too. i liked it.

  • sick playing a lot of feeling.. amazing tone.. JM is a fave of mine.. and that did it justice

  • @realmencandance thanks bro

  • TONE!

  • you should play in the in-between pickup setting of the neck and the middle pickup. it will round out the sound to make it sound more like the way Mayer plays it but otherwise great job

  • WTF have you done with that guitar? nasty shit man!

  • Pretty good playing, but as a couple of people already pointed out, the relic ain't that good. Body work is cool but you have not tried to age the hardware... Looks kind of odd when the body looks like crap and the bridge is all shiny...

  • Sounds a bit out of tune..

  • let your guitar age normally. as you tour, it will wear and tear.

    otherwise, good playing.

  • sounded a little out of tune,

    but sick as fuck dude.

  • what did the guitar ever do to you. plus why would you want to ruin a perfectly good guitar like that. just saying.

  • failure relic job....but your a good player man

  • @jabes416

    I like it haha!! xD

  • You mean it doesn't look like all other relic jobs? Yeah, cause doing things your own way totally sucks, ofcourse you can't have your own style.

Dude, he tried something new, and that's just cool.

  • @MatteSweden

So shitting next to the mother fucking toilet bowl is all good seeing as it's "his own way" and it is "something new"?

In all honesty, this guy WRECKED his (already shitty) guitar.

  • @Carthsgtr

I admit it's a kind of daring relic job, but I still think it's cool to do something different. It's as much about personality as looks, though, I think that it's looks kind of cool aswell.

As far as I can tell, that's a $1000 stratocaster, and that's a "shitty" guitar according to you? Or maybe you somehow know for a fact that that's less than an American Standard Strat?

  • @MatteSweden

It sounds like a Squire through a Roland Cube with the tone turned to 5.

  • @MatteSweden he did not try something new. have you seen JM's black1 guitar? hmm. wonder where he got it from.

  • @oriana310 actually that looks more like srv strat.. which john mayer copied as well

  • @jabes416 It's a good job, i like it ;)

  • cool, would should better if you were a little more careful when tuning your guitar tho.

  • Yea how did you make your guitar so cool!!

  • @FreaquedeMusique oh i reliced it during summer oflast year. burned it sanded it and dragged in on a car

  • @jingwah ur dumb

  • @jingwah thats not relic , thats fucking up a guitar...

  • @jingwah is that why its so out of tune??

  • @jingwah I don't think that's how you "relic" a guitar. That was just desecrating it.

On JM's Black One Strat, at least the relic effect appears to have come from natural wear and extensive playing...yours just looks like a demented clown tried to eat it.

  • how did you make you guitar that awsome??

    wanna do thqat too

  • Nice Job.. You have short stumpy thumbs!

  • Well.. Well played I supposed. It very much lacks the feel of the song. It sounds like you're just playing what someone played once. Make it your own. The notes can be exactly the same, just feel it out more. Annnd.. Tune your guitar. haha! brilliant nonetheless!

  • I mean, it's not the most impressive rendition, but hell, it's definitely not bad. good job, dude.

  • looks like a home-made relic

  • wow why would someone do that to there guitar on purpose

  • Low E not tuned. Good job thought!

  • rubbish
