  • And you have to ask why did such a good planner forgive Gogol who had no plan just an idea. Perhaps because he wrote well. To be banal - I am a huge fan of Nabakov

  • Thank you very much for this rare footage! I absolutely love Nabokov and Dostoevsky (should not be putting them both in one sentence, but you know, they do really well together in my heart) :)

  • @Ivorybird09 I think he actually loved Dostoevsky, only he was jealous on him. ;)

  • @doloreshaze1935 Cannot agree with you less, dear Ivanka : ) He loved Pushkin and Tolstoy, and he was not jealous of them. Pushkin is/was a golden standard of Russian culture/literature/poetry. I have my theory but I am afraid too many rotten tomatoes might start flying around here : )

  • @Ivorybird09 ha has it's ok!!! I was joking a little because I know he was very critical on Dostoevsky writing, and he loved Gogol, Pushkin and Tolstoy. He wrote interesting book about these writers (based on his lectures) where he is making critical point of view on their styles of writing.

  • @doloreshaze1935 Thank you for making this VIDEO! Sorry to miss your joke : (
