@CinderrrBlock i saw a documentary about the story of the song a few years back and it had the no use version on it, cant quite recall if you sang on it
Thanks for the supportive comments people. I do agree I like the Pogues version better too but this was fun to do as a tribute and hopefully introduce new fans to the band that inspired Flogging Molly. And if you don't like it Pogue Mahone! (if you don't know what that means then kiss my arse!)
you are absurd. it was a fantastic performance. i would never ask anyone, including cinderblock herself, to do better. the first time i heard this song i was in a car and her voice started and i fell in love with it, the voice of course. i dare anyone to even come close to emulating what you hear here. good luck to anyone who takes my challenge. because if you can do it one third as well than you are amazing.
wow. as soon as i heard your voice the first time i heard this song i knew it was "the woman from tilt" i have been a follower for years and years. that voice goes through me in a way no other voice does. purley fantastic.this song is amazing and so is everyother song i ever heard you sing. coxtube hit it right on the head. your voice is the most beautiful singing voice i have ever heard. congrats and cheers to you.
This was sooo much fun. Especially stage diving at the end, almost no one felt me up! Thanks for all the nice comments about my voice. I thought I was off key myself. Thanks NUFAN. Maybe someday someone will be kind enough to post the version of this song we filmed for Irish TV. A friend in Dublin said he saw it, I never have.
the nice commments 'bout your voice?!!? look, you are a human being with the most beautiful voice among many other singers I've heard, and I'm not exaggerating i really mean it. you already know there's a lot of people who loves hear you singing so dont stop ever. a big hug!!!

Sorry but it sounds very comical for an American to sing this. One of the worst covers I have ever heard. I usually like covers too. This is just embarrassing. Listen to the Pogues version. Period.

You're absolutely great, and this song touched me when I listen to it for the first time on the "More Betterness" album.
From France.

@jrack13 I don't really care who you think I am. All the better to preserve my anonymity. And it's "you're" not "your."

Her singing was spot on. the sound engineers should have upped the volume.

Great song. I think Cinder Block has an awsome voice! Better than MacColl's.
Thanx for the upload.

I think I still prefer the MacGowan/MacColl version, but this was a beautiful counter-point. It rocks.
