  • I'm making a custom Fender. If it's too much I'll most likely just buy this, this guitar is fucking sexy as hell in the Faded Vintage Sunburst.

  • So everyone can be clear, there are 2 different customs. A white one, and the black/sunburst colors. The white has duncan designs in it, while the other colors have seymour duncan. The difference is mainly the pickups and price, white being at $600, others at $700. Don't buy a guitar just for color...

  • The neck pickup tapped... it sounds so good. I can't wait until mine arrives.

  • is my ears correct was that the darkness at beginning?

  • @jbrand89 yep!

  • charlie scene's guitar :)

  • 09's schecter custom is not the same as 11's schecter custom, kind of upgrade in 11's

  • Are the PUPS Duncan Designed like this guy says?? I see

Bridge pickup: Seymour Duncan Custom Custom

Neck pickup: Seymour Duncan '59 on GC website>> Should be the same guitar?? WHY don't these dudes get it right??

  • @mak5201965 because they are duncan designed

  • @mak5201965 its because this video came out before they canceled and redid the guitar I have the old tempest (the one in the video) which has duncan designed pups and no locking tuners the new on the other hand has seymour duncan pups and locking tuners

  • Oh yeah black shuck, that's what I call taste!

  • Holy Cow! a guy from gear wire that can actually play!

  • @OilOsbourne i didnt get the hellraiser because the put them out of production and i wasnt about to custom make it.

  • can u still use the coil taps if you change the pickups to EMG's?

  • @thevolcomdude13 get the Hellraiser if you want EMGs

  • @thevolcomdude13 that depends on the pick ups. I have Bridge EMG 81 and 60 Neck - yes only because metallica use that set up :), But the coil tap wont function in that set up.

  • I tell ya some serious dumb arzs here, this guitar can hang with all guitars, what most of you children do not understand is the metal tone comes from a amp not a guitar. All the guitar does is provide the signal. The passive pups in this guitar are as powerful as the actives but with tone added in unlike the actives that sound like crap.... Geeez get a real amp and watch this guitar sing; it sounds as good as the Gibsons, Fenders and the Ibys I own which cost 3 to 4 times more.

  • It does if you read my remark and your "Buy Line6 crap remark"

  • I have had this guitar for about a year now, and have been playing for over 32 years. This guitar can cover any style (even country) and that screaming crap mentioned here also. So for those saying you need different pups its obvious you have zero clue and your a bedroom player looking into a mirror while you play to your fake audience. My thoughts; by the guitar its a great value, fantastic player and tone.

  • @guitarest Im no GEEETAR Hero but I own one of these too and it plays as dark and heavy as I want to go and sings like a canary if I want it too what more could I want.I totaly agree this is a great guitar.I like it better then the Gibsons I played in the same price range....

  • @MrWer1138 agreed

  • Hey guys, does anybody here knows if this guitar fits well for heavy metal like In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head etc?

  • @JacoobZ Probably not, you'll need to change pickups then. Try checking out the Hellraiser series, they are more suited for metal.

  • @murlocforlunch

    ANOTHER CLUELESS BEDROOM PLAYER

  • @guitarest dude...we aren't clueless...What..don't you like hellraisers or something?

  • @JacoobZ Yea right man...Get a Hellraiser dude...You wont regret it..And if you want Seymour Duncans instead of EMGs, just get the Schecter Blackjack ATX....It's basically the same as the hellraiser but in a different color type and different pickups...

  • @KickYourAssTomorrow

    CLUELESS

  • @guitarest If you are saying 'clueless' because you don't understand, basically what i'm saying is, this guitar in the video clearly was not built for metal...You asked if the guitar would be good for metal, and i told you no....Get the Hellraiser or the Blackjack ATX if you want a guitar suited for metal....What's not to understand?

  • That guitar screams Sharp Dressed Man, "tuxedo appointments" was a very fitting phrase. I want one so bad :D too bad I could never afford one :(

  • this is what jeremy DePoyster from tdwp uses

  • @twistoffate123 well he used to now he uses a schecter hellraiser solo6

  • @Tomoya421 guitars are about preference i loved this but hated the C-1 i play an original Ultra III from 06 just shut up u probably don't know

  • @Tomoya421 i agree i bought this and i hate it. imma trade it in for a Tele :)

  • LOL awesome vid dude, FENDERs suck... no offense to any lovers, but Tele's are good (Jim Root)

  • If this sounds nice with the Duncan Designed, imagine with the real Seyour's...

  • @ztikmaen I put real duncans in mine, sounds real damn good

  • I just jizzed my pants!

o.O I want this guitar soooo bad!!

  • The pickups aren't duncan designed, they are SEYMOUR DUNCAN CUSTOM CUSTOM AND '59

  • @rambache older model had DDs.

  • can someone please tell me whats the difference between this guitar and the tempest custom? and which one should i buy? thanks!

  • @EpiPhOneD2014Up This is the tempest custom.

  • To the one who consider EMGs in it: It can be done, and it sounds pretty good just as 81 and 60´s does in a les paul sort of body. :)

  • No maple cap on the 2009 Tempest Custom; solid mahogany.

  • Because of this video, I ended up purchasing one yesterday. I wanted a back up for my Les Paul Custom, but didn't have the money for another Gibson Les Paul custom. The Schecter Tempest fits the bill, and surpassed my expectation for the price I paid for, $399 shipped new from American Musical Supply. High quality guitar at a very affordable price. I'm now a true Schecter believer.

  • is this good for metal?

  • @AJokeWithoutLaughter.... its an electric guitar... :P tis a good guitar though. if you wanna get a brutal metal sound get a line 6 amp

  • @Cwispy17

    CLUELESS AND LOST

  • @guitarest that made sense? lol

  • It's an arched top, not a beveled top. Guitar tops aren't beveled; you bevel an edge.

  • i just ordered this guitar :D one question though, can you still use the coil tap feature if you switch out the humbuckers for like actual seymour duncan humbuckers??

  • if you get tappable pickups yes :]

  • Nice review, I bought one today based on what I saw here.

  • I BOUGHT THAT ONE TODAY =D

  • thanks for the great review,,, I have been looking for a comprehensive vid.

  • i won't mention them by name *cough*FENDER!*cough* sorry about that. i had a little GIBSON in my throat.

oh sure yes very subtle XD

  • @jordemaster8 lol well its true

  • this guitar is INCREDIBLE!!! i bought one used for $375 at GC. whoever owned it didn't know how to adjust the pick-ups or string action height. (probably got frustrated and sold it) good for me! i was gonna buy a gibson, but i saw this. it is WAY better and cost ALOT less.

  • I recently purchased a Hellraiser Tempest. EXCELLENT factory setup. Minimal fret buzz with what I consider to be a low action. (2.5mm at the 12th fret). Throw in the fact that I got it for half price and I couldn't be happier with what I received.

  • *Fender* Cough A little Gibson in my throat ha ha

  • I hate the way this guy plays. He throws his arm out everytime theres an accent on a beat. And I wish he wouldn't stare directly into the camera. It's kinda freaky

  • 3:41 is funny - BLESS YOU ! xD

  • I've been looking at this guitar for a few days and, after this video, am definitely getting this guitar soon. I can't wait!

  • Does this guitar have reasonably low action?

  • yes, but he forgot to mention the tune o' matic bridge, which you can use to change the action

  • Lol *cough*Fender!*cough*

    I'm getting a white one :D

  • Got it too, but change it with some EMGs 60 and 81 :) and that gives it a much more rock/ metal tone :)

I just have a irritating problem on the 16 fret on the little E string!!! it is kind of muttet

  • really helpful, thanks.

  • If i could i would give this ten stars because this is very helpful and has convinced me to get this guitar, i especially love its versatility u can go from country to rock with one tap, thanks yall!

  • Bought this in white today. Really, I only went in to get a set of picks...

  • @luminaeus for howmutch did you buy it ?

  • @luminaeus Did the same,I just went to look at some guitars and like a dumbass(Or vision from GOD)I had my BC Rich in the car, needless to say Im poorer a BC Rich and richer a Schector! hahaha Mines white too! ,\m/

  • im gettin this guitar in a few days!! too bad i gotta sell my drumset to get it tho:(

  • black shuck hells yes

  • coughFENDERcough! xD

  • i like his NON name mentioning :P im thinking of buying this guitar in whiteis the frettboard as sick as all other schecters?

  • i own one. i've had it for years and it's my go to guitar. best bang for your buck out there

  • see what hes doing with his other hand? XD

  • I love mine.

Bought the white one brand new for $400 and put gold hardware on it.

  • that sound pretty sexy. how much for all new hardware?

  • Pickups and everything around $350

    :x

  • I have one of thoes. Great guitar!

  • i got that one, and the only thing thats irritates me is the 16th fret on little E, it sounds like it hits the second fret thing = a shorter note than on the 15 fret :-/

I got some EMG´s 60/81 in it, because i needed a more heavyér tone than the humbuckers, it sounds nice!!! i like it because it´s kind of like a crossing between a strato/ les paul / and the "horns" on the neck - makes it diferent from a les paul for example :P

  • *Cough*Fender*Cough*, sorry, got a little Gibson in my throat.

  • does shecter actually make a better series than the diamond series ive never seen one, i even checked there site, i couldnt find one?

  • There seems to be some different quality levels within the Diamonds series. I think the next step up is the USA Customs which is a huge jump in price as I recall.

  • such an awesome reviewer =D

    and awesome guitar =P

  • this guitar is amazing and worth every penny ive had one for about a year now and it plays great lightweight smooth neck and great sound and yea i agree i would pick this guitar over a fender or gibson any day ive played this guitar next to a gibson and the sound speaks for itself

  • I wish that for 600 dollars, it should have better pickups...

    I still love mine though.

  • 600$?! I paid 1000$ for mine! What a rip off! Anyways, the guitar is amazing and worth every penny!

  • Schecter makes great guitars that are well priced - Havent seen one that is built badly or one that sounds bad. Why did you pay a 1000 for yours? Where did you buy it? The Tempest Classic is an awesome guitar as well. That one is a Les Paul killer.

  • I agree! I bought mine in Europe

  • Well thats why. Schecters in europe are alot more expensive

  • great neck pickup sounds

  • awesome review. i love the tempest body shape, and have been eying them up for so long now. someday... someday...

and i think metlguitar02 says the rest!!!

  • (FENDER)....excuse me, I had a little gibson in my throat!! Greatest reviewer, ever.

  • LOL

  • Black Shuck!

  • the darkness being played was the best part
