  • i hate it how (well u can say) that they in love or they had something for each other but never got together *sigh* i can related to that

  • @sugarlipsbling Me too :P It sucks.

  • @sugarlipsbling I am in the same position. This is my favorite movie. i love someone I can never be with. I admire Elizabeth for her strength.

  • historia która uwiecznia znamię miłości, potęga która nigdy nie przestanie istnieć dopóki jest w nas iskra zasiana

  • What is the name of the music you used? It's simply beautiful and haunting!!!

  • @ader77 It's from the BBC drama soundtrack: The virgin queen :) One of my favourites!

  • @AZYRIELLAVESTA she did end up ahving him, although not publicly.

and @tiredoldbag yes in a sense he did because she would have had him, she would have defied all others and had him if he wasn't MARRIED!! his wife wa a bitch but still

@Lyna212 soooo agreed I had to stop wearing make-up for days while I was reading it! I couldn't put it down!!! :)

  • That is some seriously gOrgeous music

  • were watching this at school but are teacher is skipping the dirty bits lol...

and aparantly the bit were someones throat gets cut

  • Замечательный фильм! Классная музыка! Молодцы!!!

  • I love this movie!

  • Joseph Fiennes is absolutely great in this movie, not to mention Cate Blanchett's AMAZING performance as Young Ellizabeth I ...one of my favorite movies ...it is said that the real Elizabeth I's last words before dying were: "All my possessions for a moment of time"--how sad, maybe she was thinking of Robert Dudley...after all, she apparently also said his name before dying..

  • Flora Robson did the best ever portrayal of Queen Elizabeth, both in Fire Over England and in The Sea Hawk, far superior to any other I have seen. Just the sort of strong, self-controlled woman that one envisages with this queen at the height of her power.

(Cate Blanchett not being very nice person also has the unfortunate effect of colouring my opinion of her acting)

  • @tiredoldbag so true he was a faithful servant but whether he loved her as much as she loved him is debatable and was he doing it for more favour! But I personal think he did love her very much!

  • have u ever read "the virgins lover" by philippa gregory? its really good & is about their romance

  • What is the end off this story?

  • Well, they never get eachother..

  • @zeforah

That's so sad :( Why not?? I don't really understand this story. I've never seen the movie. Can you give me a summary, please?? I'm really interested in historical romances :)

  • In the film he doesn't tell her that he has a wife and betrays her. Although historically that's not correct.

no one can say for certain why she never married him...there are lots of diff theories.

She may have feared what happened to her mother and sister happening to her or Amy Dudley's death caused too much scandal for them to marry.

  • @zeforah NICE MOVIE,, THE END IS THAT SHE IS THE ONLY QUEEN

  • joseph is very niceee!

  • i like the BBC's one The Virgin Queen ( 2005) whith Edward Thomas hardy

and or (Tom Hardy ---->look him up he is cool you will most likey like him )

    Anne-Marie Duff

  • Yup that is one of my favourites too! And the soundtrack music from that is awesome!!!

  • what about Sir Walter Raleigh in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age"? were they really in love too? cuz i've read that the queen and Robert Dudley had been together, or loved each other, or "remained the relationship" for their entire life :/

im so interesting in this haha i dont know why.

  • in fact, They were together since they were 8 and 9 and he had been there for her all their life until he died at the age of 56. Elizabeth was 55 back then and it was right after the Victory over the Spanish Armada the Elizabeth the Golden age movie is about but they left Robin out of it, i have no idea why. Anyway, Sir Walter Raleigh was one of Elizabeths favorites too, i dont know if she was really in love with him though. google his story. hope that helps x

  • yeah ive read it on wiki, Sir Walter Raleigh was like 19 years younger than the queen. In 1591, Raleigh was secretly married to Bess Throckmorton, one of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting, eleven years his junior, and was pregnant at the time of their marriage. The unauthorized marriage was discovered the following year, Raleigh was imprisoned and Bess dismissed from court. It would be several years before Raleigh returned to favor.

so the movie is true on this part.

  • Another great book about them is "The Virgin's Lover" by Philippa Gregory...I just cried and cried...

  • Awesome, thanks! I like Philippa Gregory!

  • yeah I know. I just love it too and read it about a hundred times. I cried too.

  • why did Elizabeth cast him aside? It looked like she really liked him. Was it because if she married him he would be king? There for he'd be above her?

I admire Elizabeth it most have been truly difficult for her. Being a woman in those days was hard, let alone a Queen. If she were a man she could've gone around sleeping with whom ever she pleased and nobody would call her out on it. because she be a man and king. But she was a woman and queen and there for doom to be lonely.

  • She could never be with him because he was a man of low rank. He was not a King or a Prince. He could not do anything alliance wise for England. If she could not have him, she would have no nobody.

  • So heartbreaking...

  • i like this movie so much :D

  • tottally love this one of my most fave movies great music. Can you tell me how its by????pls

  • i watched this movie soo long ago that i reallu don't remember most of itXD cate blanchett looks really young though, and joseph fiennes looks stunning as usual;) he has such an intense stareO.O like he's seeing your soul, when he looks at you

  • very good.

  • I really like your video. It's very good. This movie is really good. I think it's one of Cate Blanchett's best works.

  • Can you please list the songs you used in the video? I would really appreciate this

  • The music is from the soundtrack of the BBC mini series "The Virgin Queen". The first song is in Bulgarian.

  • Great video, I very much so love the music. Especially in the beginning, I need to get the song :-)

  • this could have been the BEST film - the cinematography was awesom the cast superb - the script - SHIT!!!!!!! Robert never betrayed Elizabeth.... this is so wrong!

  • Yeah, historically it isn't correct, which bothers me also.. o_O

  • same here, but they had other things that happened that could have been put in instead. Amy Robsart, Robert's wife, was murdered a little after Elizabeth became Queen. That scandal kind of cooled Elizabeth off a bit for Robert. That would have been better and more accurate to put in place of Robert's "Betrayal".

  • yeah i was thinking the same. I watched this movie lately and was like "omgwtf??????????" i got so angry.

in fact, They were together since they were 8 and 9 and he had been there for her all their life until he died at the age of 56. (Elizabeth was 55 back then.)

If you're interested, Id recommend the book (not a fiction historic novel but a REAL book) "Elizabeth and Leicester" by Sarah Gristwood. :)

  • OMG!!!! I READ that book! That is so awesome to know I wasn't the only one! I loved this movie, but I think NOTHING this movie had could compare to the ACTUAL story... It's only an opinion, mind. The real story is more interesting because of Amy's death. Elizabeth REALLY couldn't afford to marry him then, but that never stopped her from being in love with him for the rest of her natural days. It was rumored to have the last letter he ever wrote to her when she died, but who knows now right?

  • a REALLY good book about Elizabeth is "Legacy" by Susan Kay. Out of print, but get it used- it sells cheap on amazon. Sourcebooks is also re-releasing it spring of next year.

  • Must.... read... that... book... *dies*

  • @tiredoldbag Robert was loyally!

  • dAMn Hes hoTt!

  • Hmm I have a question - who do you think was more successful ? The Tudors or the Stuarts ?

  • Hehe :) Well, I'm not sure.. All I can say I _prefer_ the Tudors ^_~!

  • She was not a whore ... some called her that because they didn't like her and because the pope named her that so the ppl would think less of her.

But she decided not to marry and be "mother to her ppl".

    She was The Virgin Queen!

  • Yeah -she certainly wasn't a whore! (What a horrible word :/)

  • Glad you share my opinion :)

I really admire her and think she was the best monarch of the Tudor Dynasty...

Hmm isn't it odd that King Henry was dissappointed when she was born, but this child did great things for her country :) ?

Later she wanted to refuse to sign the death sentence for Queen Mary because she remembered what happened to her mother but Walsingham convinced her; and did not want to marry because she feared not to reapeat the same mistakes her father did !

  • Yeah, I highly admire her too. I guess in the early stages nobody realised the potential she had -but she did prove it ^_~ She was a wise woman. And sort of sad, because she never could be with the one she loved (I can relate..).

  • Yes ... pity she didn't have a child and was the last of the Tudors ...

  • Cool video ;) Why does she cut her hair? - I've never seen the film btw - :) x

  • She cuts it in the end as a symbol I guess - of becoming the virgin queen.

  • HAHA! Her? A virgin! Lol, not disrespecting her koz I think she was an awesome queen - bit self abosorbed at times - but I really don't beleive she was a virin queen, still she couldn't have her own people thinking she was a whore x

  • Yeah, well there are two ways of thinking of it.. I myself too find it hard to believe she would've actually been a virgin, but at least she cold claim herself as one as she does at the end of this movie.

  • well this is what i'm getting from my mom but i heard she cuts her hair to ward off men from being attracted to her. so she will be the virgin queen from there on. the whole white face and cut hair was supposed to look ugly and messed up that men wouldn't want it.

  • Erm she put on the white makeup because she developed smallpox and they cut her hair in eal life to make wigs for her becuase it would take too long to do up her own hair everyay.

  • Yeah that was one of the reasons too ^.^

In this movie they just didn't display that :P Which kind of sucks.. It's not historically correct.

  • Still it's great film even if it is historically correct.

  • Yeah it is!! <3

  • omg nice vid! is the song form the soundtrack??? i love dudley <<<3 even though he's a total manwhore.

  • The music/soundtrack is from the BBC miniseries The Virgin Queen ;)

Haha, yeah I guess he was.. :P

  • Why Embedding disabled? I wanna put it on my facebook!! :P

  • Haha, okay I'll change it ;)

  • Nice video!!

  • Thank you!!! I quite like it too.. The feelings it brings I mean :)
