This is one of the best videos made of stills that I've ever seen!!! I am so impressed. Several of the Chordettes are still living and I've love to give them the biggest hug I could ever give for cutting this song.
This and "Born To Be With You"..my all-time favorite Chordetter hits..I remember very well hearing this on the radio, winter of 57-58. Chordettes and kaylin Twins...great year for music!
Have always loved this bouncy little tune with the cute (but not 'cutesy') lyrics. It tells a simple and charming story and the ensemble performance of the Chordettes is superb, as usual. Their singing style is so similar to that of the Maguires that it would have been interesting to see the 2 groups perform together, perhaps sharing a medley of the hits of each. Just a thought.
It just occurred to me, after hearing this (yet) again and noting your comment above about the word 'See-ee-cretly', that you might also enjoy hearing the big hit by Jimmie Rogers, (same year) called 'Secretly'. It was/is another delightful and romantic tune.
@iotbs7 hey ty a lot but i have everything jimmie rogers ever recorded , that is one of my favs, though, another great talent and loss. did you know his entire name is jimmie rodgers snow. hank snow was a great freind of the old jimmy rogers from the 50ties he named his son after him, have a great day
@iotbs6 I am not too sure that the Chordettes and McGuire sisters would have been very musically compatible as the Chordettes harmonies had its roots in barbershop music while the McGuire Sisters were more of a close harmony group more like that of the Andrews Sisters or the Fontaine Sisters. It may be noted that the Chordettes and McGuire Sisters both had strong ties to Arthur Godfrey and would have had many opportunities to perform together if they had chosen to do so.

How come genres like rap and hip-hop have become dominant in the last 10 or 15
years? Where have our ears for good music gone?
