I was looking for stunt kite flyin tricks and I came across Ray Bethells Flying style AMAZING Kite Flyer...More so what an Amzing person!!! Thank you for posting this incredible vid. I can only hope one day to learn to fly like him, watching him fly and the enjoyment in his eyes and the ppl watching is amazing.. to see it here on you tube is just brilliant!! Now I have to go and pick me jaw off the floor!! :D

@falky432 I saw him once in Vancouver at Vanier Park. I spent some hours with him. He can understand by doing some lip reading. But he is gentle and tought me wich kite I should buy and tought me the basics of flying in that same very day.

Ray Bethell is an incredible kite filer. I had the happy chance of seeing him live, in a park in Vancouver. He was flying three kites, sometimes in prefect synchronization, sometimes in separate paths.

"Wow, he's good." "Yeah." "I think I'll go over and talk to him." "Nah, don't go." *five minutes pass* "I think I will."

And he gave me his card. It led here.

Ray - you inspire me in many ways - from meeting you near the Planetarium many years ago whilst being awed by your flying prowess; helping me deal with the recent loss of my mother to Alzheimer's (through this video); and last but not least inspiring me to become a better pilot, though I doubt I will ever be as inspired as you - but I will keep trying. The first time I saw these videos of Ray Bethell at "work" I was bowled over that this kite flying was even possible. The second time, I cried at the beautiful combination of the accompanying music (Flower Duet and The Wings Beneath My Wings); and now to see the video interview and what he's all about and what he's BEEN through has made me want to try to make my life -- full of some hard, hard knocks-- the best it can be. He's SO inspiring!
