  • I was taught u grab the tricep at the elbow.

  • Very good teacher, I like you. I want you. Saywut

  • wata joke

  • OH MY GOD YOU INSTRUCT LIKE THE OLD SPICE GUY

also its cool to see stephen as the dummy

  • and, you do not drag and then attack the body or waist. your opponent will either hip heist or attack the hands, peel, put in back pocket and hep heist out again. you drag/pull your opponent to you and with the free hand attack near leg with a single while still holding the drag and then run pipe or double across! im sure you have no idea what im talking about though, LOL!

  • Hey Sheep. If you read what i wrote, I did not say step backwards when you pull your opponent to you. I said you do NOT step towards him as you drag. As far as thinking before I comment, please read before you do. In fact, I have been wrestling for over 22 years and including, State, Regional and NCAA. Ill be glad to give you my name and wrestling resume if you would like to discuss wrestling technique. Lesson 1, you BJJ guys should not be teaching wrestling, its atrocious!

  • @jboxermit could u plze make a video....im just starting mma but i dont want to go knowing nothing, i atleast want to know as much as i can so that way when i go in it'd be easier to understand

    THANKS

  • better takedowns (josh vs glenn 2010) this whole video

  • you do NOT step with the arm drag. you pull him into you. Notice, if you step forward as you are dragging/pulling him to you, you are now going in opposite directions. that is a complete contradiction

  • @jboxermit

    No.

You're trying to close the distance to take his back or go for a takedown. What fundamental sense does it make if you move in the SAME direction as your opponent? You would be stepping back and moving with him, completely unconducive to what you're trying to do. Please think before you comment.

  • This isnt a secret... this is basic folk style and grekko/roman wrestling..

  • This pummeling seems like a mating ritual for gay men. Joke.

  • Cool, i like ur voice haha, everything is so clear and easy to understand

  • we do a arm drag drill....its different from this. also we do the arm drag diff. we call the "karate block" a "Kung Fu". when we get the wrist, we feed it over the other arm seems u can get the back even easier when feed the wrist to the oppeset hand. everyone has there own way of doin stuff.

  • @thatdaveguy26 i'm goin to give it a try in class, i may even like it better :)

  • Your a very good teacher!

  • what is is name?

  • Main errors:

    -distance is to far .

    -hooking under armpit arm overstretched

-final step lead into no where

  • @NZSambo ..you got any sugessions to make it better bro....i like this drill and im gonna start training it but i wanna add stuff.......plz send me your sugessions....thank you

  • Great video, congatultaions! Simple and effective!

All the best from Ljubljana, Slovenia

  • ah we do this in wrestling great technique for back control easy takedown points

    great vid

  • wow this is awesome.

  • is tht stephen kesting? moohahaaaa

  • Haha yea, I think so.

  • Ummmm... this is collegiate/greco/free style, not MMA. But it is a very informative video none the less.

  • If you look in the related videos, there's videos about boxing. Clearly, he's teaching MMA.

  • Yes, I see that now. My comment was that this move has been around for over a thousand years in wrestling formats. A clockwise movement with an arm drag leads to to shoulder or elbow breaks taught in busido around the same time. The takedown is at its roots, a wrestling maneuver. But yes he is teaching MMA, this move is wrestling.

  • Well yeah. But MMA isn't a style of its own, it's a mixture of different types of martial arts. Thus, Mixed Martial Arts. So there's no such thing as an "MMA technique" persay, because it's all just a mixture of different techniques from different disciplines.

  • great!

  • hmmmmm, no

  • Great video. Thanks!

  • I saw all your videos and they are very informative. You did an excellent job.

  • nice drill - really like the fluidity

  • great explanation

what is your preferred technique(s) for closing the gap and taking down a MUCH heavier MUCH taller opponent (in a MMA match where striking is permitted) ?

    thanks !

  • kool
