  • I can't post links in here, so you'll have to do a search, but here's what I found for Lance's Blackbird in it's current state.

Another video of the Sled at Jets Over Kentucky 2011 "SR-71 Kentucky Jets" by "TurbineF14"

  • lance, do ou have any videos of the plane flying in it's current state? The plane looks so good now I'd love to see some more video of it.

  • Careful you dont want to start another cold war!

  • Can you spy on your neighbors with it?

  • That was a beautiful landing!

  • nice

  • What is going on with your SR-71,have you moved toward finnishing it?How big is this model,I was a crew chief for 24 years and loved watching Habu taking off in Okinawa.Thank for a great model,I`m an RCer also.David USAF RET

  • Hi, What is the width and length, weight?

    What turbines are you using?

  • @wingspan100 Go check out his web site. This thing is a beast. Taller than he his by about a foot and he says with two OS 91 engines!

  • Sick landing!!! Absolutely beautiful.

  • Lance,

Any chance you'll show us a video with the scale landing gear and inlet spikes installed? I can't believe you are building another one with the crazy restrictions you put on yourself! Good luck. I look forward to following your progress.

  • Superb landing.

  • good landing

  • Remarkable piece of machinery. Your landing was spot-on! Great work.

  • its so beautiful

    i love that airplane

  • SR-71 shaped airfoils still fly!!!

  • nice landing dude

  • this guy's been working on it for 7 years and its still not done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I admire his persistence. How often does someone spend seven years of his life on something without saying, "screw it," and going to do something else?

  • Yep! Passion cant be compared to time or money..

  • beautiful

  • That landing was picture perfect

  • yeh great landing

  • The greatest plane ever , finally resurrected !

  • You have one awesome project there. Most people don't stick with a project for that amount of time and money. I'm impressed, and I can't wait to see it finished. I wonder if there's any way you could put a FPV system in there without messing up scale appearance? Have you seen the RVOSD or the new EagleTreeSystems ProOSD? Flying the sled with one of those would be sweet!

  • I agree, a camera would be really cool. If you don't want the weight in the nose you could put it on a pylon like the aircraft had to carry the D-21, further toward your C of G.

  • not sure if i've seen a smoother landing...

  • you should mount a tiny camera so you could see, it would make flying very exciting

  • now that was a greaser!

    Nice flying mate.

  • Awesome! I would love to see more vid of this plane!

  • very sweet plane man and a perfect landing. 5 stars all the way!

  • Looks awesome Lance. I guess we won't be seeing her fly at Taylor. It was sure nice to see you fly the crap out of your F-15 though!

  • Sweet! Must have been a blast to build and fly such a head-turner!

  • Very nicely done and sweet landing. 5 stars.

  • It was fabulous, I was wondering anyone in this world can build a RC jet that can get sonic boom.

    Please comment. Thank you

  • you need turbine to work on super sonic speed ..
