Shit, that was epic. I began reading the first book in class today and it was awesome. I don't care if the movie is crap compared to the radio show and books, I wanna see it.

The movie was OK...but I will always adore the cheesy TV adaption SO much more...Zaphod had TWO HEADS (and Mark Wing Davies IS ZAPHOD), Marvin had the original voice, Arthur/Ford were PERFECTLY cast...so much more of the books/radio adaptions made it to the TV version...a much better experience, IMO...

I agree with the 13th comment posted by chesese. So long and thanks for all the fish. Arthur and Ford were weird in that book. Ford vanishes before the last chapter.

I totally agree with the comment below. One they made Ford Prefect (my favourite character) stupid, Zaphod Beeblebrox is supposed to have TWO heads and in the first book NOONE falls in love. Fenchurch only appears in so long and thanks for all the fish the fourth book in the series. Go back to blackadder Steven Fry.

@ipsyscipse Well they had to fit the dolphins in somehow, because they're a big part of the movie (as in they spend the first few minutes of the movie singing about fish). Most people who saw the movie either seem to only like that part , or like everything except for that part. BTW anything to get the hitchhiker trilogy to a wider audience is a good thing in my view. Conventions nowadays demand that movies have plots and can't just be characters running around between places.

I really liked the film, in all actuality. Best acting for any Hitchhiker interpretation (loved Sam Rockwell as Zaphod), fantastic soundtrack (seriously, go pick it up, it's phenomenal), and the best visual interpretation of the universe as well (Vogons looked AMAZING!).

@OneGyT i'd read all the books before i saw the movie. the movie is just a big dissapointment, if you want the full experience you need to read the books in order. (i suggest the ultimate hitchhiker's guide, i got it and it was great) the radio show is great too. the up side to the radio show is it's free on youtube. the up side to the book is you can take it anywhere.
