will this eliminate the mpc as we know it, idk but i do know cubase will be my new daw of choice now that the drum pattern will track across the screen

No, at least with the MPC and the Roland MV 8800 you can hit pads and the timing is very different in the MPC as opposed to a DAW,.
Plus, they MPC and MV (at least mine)have NEVER CRASHED.
If anything, Ableton and the Akai APC 40 will kill the MPC
