I luv my shar pei Ace my mom spent 1,700 dollars in 3 weeks for him getting fix then he got an effection and had eye surgery he would have gone blind in 2 years then he had orga problems but we got him back to heathy him we use to have one named Raisin who gt shar pei fever and years later she was put to sleep miss her a ton

The Chinese Shar Pei is one of the most beautiful dogs. I used to raise them, but found I couldn't let them go. They are so sweet tempered, they love their owners. And we love them. I stopped raising them because shar pei owner wannabes are so stupid. I couldn't let my dogs go to people who didn't know how to care for them. These are high maintenance dogs.. eye problems, etc. I never wanted my dogs to go blind just because of lack of funds. I had to stop raising them to protect them.

they are an amazing breed, and adorable at that, but they only live aproxx. 9 years, and are very prone to getting sick/ infections, especially in there eyes.

Wow.., totalbeautyneeds. You and I have kinda the same experience. Lost my two Shar Pei babies 3 months apart. 1 young one of Shar Pei Fever. And the 2nd to old age. I know your heartbreak too well!

i have a shar pei puppy and she got sick just a little over a week ago, the doctor thought she had a spider bite or something of that matter.. i knew it couldn't have been. so i researched and found out she had hock syndrome/shar pei fever, which after so many attacks can kill their kidneys. she lost her muzzle and it is slowly coming back. i wish veterenarians would start paying more attention to this breed so they can get better medical help when they do have complications.

I understand why so many of you are confused by the director's choice of using the song "Hurt" on the soundtrack. He most likely chose the song due to the troubled history of the Shar-Pei. But... he does not tell us anything about the history as the opening titles promised us. Instead we get a collage of mostly happy shar-peis. So therefore, the song does not make much sense in this video.
