The only company that put out a somewhat decent pocket auto was Beretta. But generally, they're not the top-of-the-line firearms, in any respect. Taurus usually wins Handgun of the Year in some catagory or another. But in pocket autos, this doesn't suprise me how bad this gun was for you. Mostly, the culprit is the ammo. 25 ACP, 32 ACP, and .380's are notoriously underpowered, and terrible carry guns, in my opinion. Trade it off for a case of .223's and call it a day! - C.J.
I don't know why you were leaning back when shooting it, either cause you had no safety glasses or the pistol smelled like " tata " . I think PT stands for " piece o' tata ".
..also you gotta support women using firearms and posting to the YouTubes. They are more vulnerable than men (due to body size, not temperament), and more should be proficient at self defense along these lines.
If a guy took a 9mm hollow-point to the pre-frontal cortex, I'm sure he would have a very bad day. Ask former Colonel Moammar Ghaddafi if he thinks that the 9 isn't fit for real world combat.
Sub caliber guns are good for stealth and better than nothing , but 9mm is like minimum for real world combat and 45.acp is a proven round in real combat situations where determined heavily armed attackers go down when hit with a well placed shot. 40. s&w is a good compromise round as is 357. mag . The larger calibers 45.colt 10mm, 44.mag. 50s&w etc. are powerful but harder for most people to control and the guns that fire them are often quite large.
Cheap firearms are perfect for self defense. What a lot of shooters don't realize is that if you do shoot someone, your going to trial (most of the time). If you are acquitted of charges there will probably be an appeal or civil action brought against you. The bottom line is that your gun will be destroyed or you will never get it back. So use cheap firearms for defense because your $300 + gun is a goner.
What is "cheesy" about it? I have the same gun and although I find it kicks hard, I don't see anything "cheesy" about it... I wouldn't wanna' be on the other end of it or any other gun for that matter!
Beretta Tomcat .32acp or Beretta Cheetah .380 you wont go wrong ! Look into the .380 it has a bigger grip and it looks just like it big brother the M9 ! ;)
You maybe should have looked at the Beretta Tomcat if you like those designs a lot. I know I do, but I like .32 acp a lot myself. Also a big 9mm fan but I cant find a gun that really fits for my EDC so I went with a bersa thunder 380 cc. Again check out the Beretta Tomcat they are gorgeous and they fit the hand well and absorb what little recoil a .32 may have. Keep it loaded with FMJ and your set!
I have two Taurus 's and felt the same. I went to a gun range and I spoke to the gun smith. He shot them no problem. I shot them and I had issues. We adjusted my hands and grip, I was shooting as good as he was, very pleased with both Taurus's now.
geez not only does the gun suck but the round didn't even look like it punched through the water bottle and it took 2 shots to knock it over! I doubt it would stop anybody charging at you.
If you want a small pocket gun for everyday carry, I suggest a Sig Sauer P238 .380acp. Its like a Mini-1911 only without a grip Safety. After a bad experience with another .380acp pocket gun I broke my Sig in Hard!! 100 WWB, 50 JHP, & 20 Self Defense Round. Only cooldown was the time it took to reload the mag. It never failed not once. =)
@RainmanE350 You have seen what I have haven't you? Sig is making & coming out with in a few short months with a 9mm version. a Sig P938. Slightly longer in length & height but not much. Just think, no more paying as much for .380acp as ya do for .45acp. An more effective than .380!!! I'm saving my pennies & hoping they come out with as many variations of the new Sig p938 as they have the P238 so I can pick which I like best =)
@SoulSurvivorX2 .25 was originally made because it could be more reliable than .22 (.25's a centerfire, .22's rimfire). Modern .22LR from a good manufacturer is about as reliable, and at least some lines are more powerful/better performers. I wouldn't want to get shot by a .25, but it's really not a very good carry load.
I have the PT-22 It breaks firing pins routinely The Taurus is a copy of the Beretta Tomcat-Bobcat series They generally get good reviews I`m going to trade mine in on a Beretta ASAP
@rod38um hmmmm... I must be doing something wrong then. I've owned Tauruses for years, revolvers and semi-autos, and I've never had a problem with any of them.
Good honest review. I think all of us have bought at least one gun we later decided was junk. I know I have. Live and learn I guess. Now with Youtube it's easier to get some info on a potential purchase. Thanks for the info on this gun.
i would like a R&G 22 REVOLVER better 8in barol 8 shot silinder my dad tought me to shoot one at 3years and to just tip the glass coke bottle if dune right the bullet lands inside the unbroken bottle and the top of the bottle comes off when you pick it up leaving you a coke glass just sand with 80 grit sand paper and its done
is this really for sale??? What do you want for it? i had one of these before and i really enjoyed shooting it. PM me if your serious about selling it
Don't judge all Taurus Pistols by that one. I have a PT945, a PT709 and a TCP (.380), and they've been great. But if you do get the Walther, I think you'd be happy. But I can't be believe a .22 caliber pistol is good for much besides defense against rabid squirrels.
Trade it to SailingManuel: first talk to his wife as all the gals stick together & she'll make him pay what it's worth.

I purchased a Taurus PT 738 .380 acp. I hated it until it got broken in which was 500 plus rounds no more jams. Also have a Taurus PT 111 Pro Millennium 9 mm. A gun smith showed the proper way to fire it. I shoot with both center mass at 25 yards. It not for the gun Smith I would have gotten rid of them. I still swear by my S&W .40 acp
@SurviveToLife Decided to keep it. When we were leaving the woods after shooting the video Mike threw it at a squirrel...nailed him. So at least we don't have to buy any more ammo for it. ;) c

@Sorensonism a guy I know has the Taurus Millineum Pro in .40 S & W. It's not a PT. It's a POS!

Almost every 25 cal I've owned or shot seems to jam up. :\

I think that the only Taurus I would consider would be a revolver.

Nice video, good luck on getting rid of it :-)

@SurviveToLife Decided to keep it. When we were leaving the woods after shooting the video Mike threw it at a squirrel...nailed him. So at least we don't have to buy any more ammo for it. ;) c
