outside of the foot not quite faced up with near post.. it looks like the hard, frictional surface is responsible for the "backward" effect. i'd say the spin is in full effect before the ball leaves the ground if that makes sense. so if i'm anywhere close to the secret then the strike would be made slightly below center with little intention to chip. the ground's surface should take care of the rest.

ok, that's a lie. in short, inside of right foot rakes the ball into inside/center of left heel . the inside/center of left heel to bounce the ball back and to the right and the rake is responsible for the forward spin.
