i used to help handicapped kids with school (special ed class) and i remember this one family that had an autistic kid that would go into seizures. the family would start praying and talking in tongues once the kid would go into a seizure. it was so hard not to laugh when grown ups are making the same noises the kid in a seizure was making. i'd always just call the school nurse and an ambulance to come.
Why would you do such foolishness. If you want to pray to God do it like this. "Dear God thank you for this day amen". Speaking in other lang what the Bible ment is if i was an American wanting to speak to a group of Spanish people I would speak to them in their own lan with a translator. You will find that when Paul was speaking of the subject of Tongues he was speaking about languages= bring an interpeter or they wont know what you are saying! In one place (1 Cor 14:18) Paul says he "speakes with Tongues more then you all". I hope he did, Paul was a Roman Citizin speaking Greek, as well as speaking Hebrew, and arimaic. Now the Cloven tongues is understood in every language by all, think of it as a reversal of God confounding the languages (tower of Bable).
If Churches got around to teaching the word of God; in context and accurately, we would not have this bountifull confusion tradition going viral in the 'so called' houses of God. Heres the deal.. Straight from God. The Bible says the Holy Spirit gives the utterance... IF the SPIRIT gives the utterance then it wouldnt matter if you changed the name of the church to BAPTIST. When I was 8, my parents took me and my brothers to a neighbor's house to "convert" the parents that lived there. At one point, my parents called me into the kitchen where they were talking and asked me to "speak in tongues" for them...hoping it would clinch the deal on the conversion. Not to rain on anyones parade but there is biblical reference to speaking in tongues, Acts chapter 2. However, it is not what these people are doing. Speaking in tongues refers to someone hearing what you are saying in their native language even though you do not speak their language at all. It saddens me greatly to know that there are individuals out there who use the message of Christ for their own personal and financial gain. Christ came to save souls, not fill the pockets of greedy people.

The name of the Father is Jesus. Heres the deal.. Straight from God. The Bible says the Holy Spirit gives the utterance... IF the SPIRIT gives the utterance then it wouldnt matter if you changed the name of the church to BAPTIST. You would still speak in tongues.. Correct? IF you go to a pentecostal they speak in tongues.. But why not the baptist. The Bible clearly says the spirit gives the utterance.. So wouldnt it happen no matter what denomination you are? So why doesnt it happen at BAPTIST when they clearly belive in Jesus?

When I was 8, my parents took me and my brothers to a neighbor's house to "convert" the parents that lived there. At one point, my parents called me into the kitchen where they were talking and asked me to "speak in tongues" for them...hoping it would clinch the deal on the conversion. I closed my eyes and spouted gibberish for 30 seconds then went back to playing. Tom & Nancy were AMAZED. LOL I hope I didn't cause them to convert because I left the "cult" years ago! LOL

Not to rain on anyones parade but there is biblical reference to speaking in tongues, Acts chapter 2. However, it is not what these people are doing. Speaking in tongues refers to someone hearing what you are saying in their native language even though you do not speak their language at all. It saddens me greatly to know that there are individuals out there who use the message of Christ for their own personal and financial gain. Christ came to save souls, not fill the pockets of greedy people.

The name of the Father is Jesus. The name of the Son is Jesus. the name of The Holy Spirit is Jesus. acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized in Jesus name for the remission of sin and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." @Trinity4EverAmen Father is a title, It makes as much sense as to name someone Father. Son is a title. Holy is an adjective that is supporting Spirit, and it makes no sense to call Him the Holy Spirit. 1st Timothy 3:16, proof that God was fully manifest in Yeshua, not Yeshua being God the Son incarnate. God the Son, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit were terms NEVER mentioned in the bible. There is one God named Yeshua!! Yeshua IS the God of the Old Testament

@BVBsoldierJosh Father, Son & Holy Ghost are "titles" until you are talking about the Godhead. All 3 are GOD/CREATORS. All 3 were there in the beginning! They are Father of All things. The Holy Ghost is NOT a "gift", the Holy Ghost is the 3rd member of the Godhead, who was sent by the "Father God" on behalf of His "Son, God" to give special "gifts" to those that HE ALONE chooses & only to those that obey Him Acts5:32 Heb2:4. The Holy Spirit is SANE and RATIONAL and NOT given to inducing people to act or behave in an egregious or bizarre fashion. Religion is a disorder? Jews Muslims and Christians have all brought wonderful things to this world. They try to help the world become a better place, I don't care what you say about wars, there are good people all through out this world, religious or not! If you can't see the beauty in culture and beliefs, then I feel deeply sorry for you. Saying that people who believe in God are mentally disable is sick. This video is a scary example of the insanity that people are capable of. The people in this video do not have any mental disabilities, they are just showing biological traits of people being capable overlooking rationality. That is what all religion is. The scary thing is that the the tools that rational scientist give us fall into the hands of average joes. How are we going to survive the future when we have wmds, but with also people putting all there faith in to imaginary friends.
