I dont really care for the green color on the panamera.. but sure the panamera isnt quite as big as the 760 or s63 but I feel that it can coddle its passengers in just as much luxury as the other two, but it can be just as fast and nible as an maserati quattroporte. I find it amazing that it can go 0-60 in 3.7 seconds! I do respect the other competitors though..

The s63 is much faster than the bmw. If you look at the 0-60, 0-100 times you can see that. It should have been compared with the s600, but i still think a normal s class would be fine, as you don't need speed, you don't put your foot flat down anyway. I like the s class diesel the most, it gets 40mpg, and still goes 0-60 in 7 seconds, and has loads of torque, so mid range power is as much as the s550/s500.

I have owned to mercedes, none were an S class, and meanwhile drove Porches, VW, and BMW. Well, when ita all said and done, nothing i remember more vividly than the feeling that the Mercedes gives and gave me,. Its a slow car rather, but man, i would NOT give any BMW for a Mercedes. And im speaking from experience, They are faster, they turn better, they even look better. But they will never make u feel as good and as secure and as...i dont even know how to put it, as a Mercedes.

Everywhere where it is tested, the Panamera Turbo wins, whatever is the opponent, whereever it is, on road or on a track, and It was predictable, when Porsche do something, they do it well! The 911 is the best seller in GT, the Boxster is also in its league, the same for the Cayenne and it will be also the same for the Panamera, despite its quite strange looking! (But in person, it much more nicer than on a video!)

S Class is nice, but far too common in comparison with the Porsche or even the 7 Series. Also, Mercedes quality has jumped off a cliff in recent years, and the interior leather and trim is no where near as customizable as the 7 Series or the Porsche. I wouldn't buy a 760Li, it's kind of unnecessary in a time where gas well over $4 a gallon. I would take the Alpina over a 760.

I think this was a good review overall. Some thoughts though:1st, the porsche, everyone says how ugly it is, but the important thing to remember is the performance, its is sooo quick and such an amazing drivers car, and I think it looks good. 2nd, The s600 is slower than the 760li and its cost $20,000 more. Also, the s63 is slower than both the cars here and the s65 is barley quicker than the 760 and slower than the panamera turbo, where is all that 600 plus hp going, and its $200,000!!

Mercedes Benz' website claims the S600 does 0-60MPH in 4.5 secs. BMW's website says the 760li will do it -also- in 4.5 secs. AND, Car & Driver says the Mercedes S63 AMG will do the 0-60 in 4.1 secs and the 1/4 mile in 12.4 secs, making it faster than the S600 and 760.

Nice review by Automobile Mag. I'm surprised tho that they didn't get the ALPINA B7 instead of the V12 760li. It's the closest thing to the Motorsport line of BMW but not quite a M car. It's lighter than the 760 and has a lot better handling. BMW claims the ALPINA B7 is quicker than the Audi R8 in the 1/4 mile. ^_^

@tawfiq335 The S63/65 don't really know what they are. the Panamera is a good grand tourer (though it is incredibly ugly), and the BMW 760li is a true luxury high performance sedan. The S63/65 are too loud, and the suspension is too stiff to be a proper luxury cruiser, and they are too big and bulky to be a proper GT car. The proper competition from Benz would be the S600, but if I had to pick one, I'd go with the AMG tuned S65; I like its split personality.

And mostly because you can't say that the S63 is too loud and not as fast as the 760li because Mercedes makes the S600, a quiet V12 just like the BMW. The point is Mercedes has an S-Class for every type of want. BMW just has a quiet V12.

And lets not forget the existence of the S65. Based on facts: Mercedes is the best.
