The reason there's so much smoke coming from the iron is either because it's too hot,or because you use too much product on your hair. I hope you use products that protect your hair from the heat!Or it gonna dry out and it'll be uglyyyyyy :P + conditionner of course.

@lalala13131315 I just had some product in my hair from earlier in the day, that's why it smokes. It's not "good" for your hair to put heat on it, but it doesn't really do damage if you're careful. Use conditioner and a heat protection product.

@lalala13131315 No, cause I don't have the heat treatment in my hair lol. Uhm, a lot of it has to do with the product you put in your hair. The other side of it, which plays a huge role, is the haircut.

2 things to check:

- Is your hair thinned out a lot? And is it cut at various lengths in kind of a messy way?

- Are you using the same product that I am? You may need to use something a bit stronger, like a clay or wax.

@Kavadba um it's not thinned out too much, well it is sorta cut at various lengths, and the products are not a problem,.. i have some pree strong stuff, but just to get it sticking out like yours, is what i can't get out of my hair, after i iron it, it doesn't stay in the way i ironed, it goes back almost immediately

@HatedFIFA Have them chop it up in really random places at different lengths. Then make sure your hair is thinned out a lot. Longer on the top (faux hawk style) leave length in the back and bottom around sides.

@husainiameer Part of the problem may be the haircut. Make sure it's chopped out a lot and thinned out. You need varying lengths. Then, make sure you're using a strong enough product for your hair. A fiber, or even a wax will work well.

You can damage your hair if you're doing it too much, but that just means you need to cut your hair after a while. If you want, there are heat protection products to put in your hair which will keep it healthy.

@x23devin23hester23x I cut my hair myself. I just chop it out like crazy and then thin it a lot. The more uneven it all is, the better it works. Shorter on the sides, but the bottom of the sides and back keep some length. The top and back are almost faux hawk style, a little longer in the middle than the rest. Overall, top is the longest, then back, then sides.

@manoloptoon Hey, the sides of your hair will be a little shorter than the top. Make sure that all around your haircut is chopped out, uneven, and thinned out. And my hair is naturally a little wavy, not necessarily smooth. The straightening helps a lot.

@idrawbetterthanyouXD I've made some pretty detailed descriptions about how the hair was cut in some of the first comments on this video if you want to read up on it. The front's a little longer, then the back, then the sides. The very bottom of the back and sides needs to keep some length. Other than that, it's a slight faux hawk style. Everything is chopped out into various layers, and then thinned out.

As far as straightening. You need a flat iron. You can get one for about $20-$30

@thexiyz Hey. I cut it myself. You can ask the barber to chop your hair up into lots of random layers, and thin it out like crazy. Bring a picture in to show them so they can get the overall shape.

@61ROSEMARY Not sure what the name is. It's similar to Scandinavian Pop style. I cut it myself, get it really thinned out and chopped up unevenly so that it spikes right.
