Oh no! Didn't they learn their lesson with Red Dwarf? You can't "remaster" classic sci-fi shows. B7 wouldn't be the same without it's good old spaceships on strings!
you know the bbc are rats it would be so easy to remake blakes7 with new actors useing the old for-mate including the music with moden special affects,it would make a mint,in the usa alone they love it,if only i could win euromillions i show the bbc twitt or as the are none by the sf fans as banny bleeding clowns
@zephranna01 I think Colin Baker who played Bayban the Butcher in the series three episode, City at the Edge of the World should have been cast as Blake. If Colin Baker had played Blake instead of Gareth Thomas, he would never have left the series after series two Blake would have stayed in the series and the series might have run for much longer.
If B7 is ever remade for television I hope the actress they get to play arch enemy Servalan, is Lacey Turner or Tamsin Outhwaite both actresses would be bloody excellent and superb in the role of arch enemy. I hope the actor they get for Blake is Chris Eccleston and the actor for Avon is John Simm which would be good in every way.
@M1ggins Which actress should play arch-enemy Servalan if not Jacqueline Pearce?. Ithink Lacey turner who played Stacey Slater in Eastenders would be an ace choice as Servalan in billions of ways what do you think to that?.
@rojblake82 If I could have anyone, I think Tilda Swinton, who played Gabriel in Constantine. Whoever it was she would have to have to be sexy, cultered, and with that hint of cat-like predation. I seem to recall Lacey as quite well spoken, is sexy and I fine actress, but I think she'd possibly be too young. Kevin McKidd for Blake and there's a slightly overweight blonde stand up comic with a beard who also acts who woud be perfect for Villa, although his name escapes me.
my cast for the remake of this series would be robson green as blake, john simm as avon, burn gorman as villa, billie piper as jena stanis, indira varma as callie, that lady that played alice on the series luther (forgot her name) as servalan and christopher eccleston as travis. my storyline for the series would be the same as the original series except that the federation is controled by an unknown alien force that seeks to erase humanity from time only blake knows and must confront the threat.
@doctorw2 Billie Piper? Good grammar, NO!! She was horrible on Doctor Who, she doesn't need to ruin a gem like Blake's 7. Jenna Stanis is too strong minded and emotionally stable to be portrayed by Piper. Piper's characterizations always seem to end up whining and crying about every little bump in the road. Something Stanis would never do. And I don't know why people like you insist on messing with a masterpiece; Nation's plot for the original series was brilliant. Why the alien element?
@sixstanger00 billie piper has acted in other roles besides doctor who and she can portray a strong woman if she is scripted as one the reason why she was rubbish in doctor who is becuase she was scripted that way by russel t davies. an actor is only as good the script their given. having aliens controlling the federation would add more intrigue to the storyline especialy ones who are time active.
I never missed an episode of Blakes 7. Its is the best thing to come out of Great Britain. Back in my Uni days, I use to make up any excuse to watch Blake's 7 rather than go out. Well done BBC and cast.
Blakes 7 is still worthy watching today, in same vain as Hogans Heroes, whose humour is still funny 40 years on

@zephranna01 Why would Colin Baker, be boring as Blake he in my opinion would have been excellent in billions of ways.

@rojblake82 no, for Avon it would have to be James Purevoy, looks a bit like Paul Darrow and plays his manner quite well.

@M1ggins I wonder if Helen Mirren, could play arch-enemy Servalan if this series is remade.

By the time they decide to remake this show, they'll be able to extract the DNA from the original cast and have them cloned.

I always wondered why the ship was so big and we only ever saw a flight deck and the teleport room.
johnje82 2 years ago
Perhaps the bits we saw were the only habitable sections of the ship. Everything else could have just been automated.

Were they just in a Shakespear production or something?

Only thing wrong with these re-master'd models are they are far to silver. The originals where much better white.

They'd have rethink the series a bit-especially the end.

Top Show. Even by todays standards. The BBC Made a BIG mistake by killing the show off.
