Just heard this morning I heard on the radio that non-Canadian gays who married in Canada (like columnist Dan Savage + partner) are officially NOT married in the eyes of the country. Obviously, a Canuck marriage doesn't hold water in any state that doesn't recognize gay marriage, but it's news that Americans (and others) can't visit Canada and enjoy any legal status for their wedding either.

The reason homosexuals have more psychological health issues isn't because they're gay, it's because of the way society treats them; and yes I do know about that because I'm a med/psychology student. The article even states "A lack of immediate family support may impact aging LGB adults". The way people are treated is often a correlation of how they're treated throughout life, it's not their sexual orientation, it's cruelty and hatred.

As for animal behaviour , some animals are cannibalistic with their young, that does not permit it in humans. @dougmmm The primary reason people bring up animal behavior is because the opposing side argue that it (meaning homosexuality) isn't natural. People support gay marriage because it means equality. I necessarily don't believe in any marriage, but I support equality. For example, I despise the Westboro Bapist Church's actions (although I understand their motives ei salvation), but I can't hope for their silence through legal means without myself being a hypocrite.

In every case Christian groups submitted legal briefs arguing that since the bible says slavery is acceptable, that it should be legal in America to. I couldn't agree more with joshfarmer. Why is it the proper role of government to give license (permission) of who I contract with. The government needs to get out of the marriage licensing business, whether it be gay,poly, or common-law. I really like this movement and idea of government-free marriage.
