Look who is telling me. You know something about aviation? 747-800 is still in assembly for cargo lux and passenger version is in development. Continental odes not have them on order either. So if you do not know something please, shout the fak up!
Yep you're right the regulations state that only authorized fight crew are allowed in the fight deck while the aircraft is under its own power, however as long as its parked and not moving, there is no problem.
Wake up guys, its the FO doing the video, must be a newhire. Not too bright saying the skippers name and flight number. Company's are kinda funny about flightdeck videos showing SOP's and procedures publicly.
It depends on the circumstances, if you are in the air, most likley not, but if you are on the ground, they most likley will let you up there, I was in the cockpit of a Air Canada A321, A320, A319, B767, And
B777, But they were all on the ground, I was also in the cockpit of a WestJet 737-600, 767-700, and 737-800, again, all on the ground.
Yeah, I was just on an American 757-200, and they said I can only go into the cockpit when the plane had landed. It was kind of depressing, but I still got to see the cockpit!
only one pilot?

@ojomow
Techically, no, it doesn't. It's called the 747-8, not the 747-800.
AviationNation787 1 year ago
@AviationNation787 and if you want to be even more specific, its the 747-8f and 747-8i.

on a southwest flight from buffalo to orlando, they let my 17 year old cousin start the plane and that's not a lie. pretty cool time!
santanamets57 2 years ago
that must have been a long time ago. Once the cabin door closes the FD door is locked. Maybe they let him start the APU

That's nice, Westjet up here is almost like Soutwest in the US. Small airline, but everyone loves em.

You were allowed in the Cockpit during flight!?
msnman10 3 years ago
That's a 737NG, not a 737-200 or 737-A200 (that don't exists!)
rrmola 3 years ago
Very nice video. I am hoping to one day fly for Westjet. Is it true I need 2500 flight hours under my belt before I can apply to Westjet?
Cheers,
Chris
Chrisrex83 3 years ago
You tend to need some jet time... Most guys coming online right now have around 4000 hours

Where's the FO? Is he you? 41,000 feet...sheesh you must've been a light bird that day.
zazzafrazz 3 years ago
Actually, FL410 (41,000 feet) is quite normal for the 737NG. Sometimes they'll take them up to 410 with a little over half-full load.
Triple7pilot 3 years ago
Im pretty sure the FO was shooting the video. I assume FO (First Officer).
