wushu staves are typically made from waxwood or bamboo which provides great flexibility and transfer force harder thanks to that property.

okinawan and japanese style martial arts use either oak or any other "hard" wood.

You guys are lame to discuss Chuck Norris on this video. Zhao Chang Jun is one of the greatest and most respected martial artists in Chinese history- I think of him everytime I practice staff or tumble. Chuck Norris is awesome too, but this isn't his video. ZGJ is great at all of the traditional weapons and his staff and ditang is unparalleled. He has become a great teacher as well.

He teaches in China, he opened a school funded by Sammo Hung in the city of Xian. If you google Zhao Chang Jun i'm sure you can find it. Kochamwushu username might have some vids and some more info on his school and stuff. GL!

I'm NOT a fan of Chuck Norris but you clearly have limited knowledge on him. He is a highly decorated marital artist but kids today only know him from Walker Texas Ranger. Why do you think he trained with Bruce Lee? In the late 60- early 70's he was one of THE BEST karate champs on the planet. He's not the best fighter by any means but his martial arts accomplishments are many. Still, I'm not a fan.

I'm not saying Chuck Norris was an amazing fighter, but I find it ridiculous when people try to act like he was a joke or didn't actually know martial arts. He didn't START in movies. He was a great competition Karate practitioner (after training with Bruce Lee for a while) and eventually moved into film (in the 80's.. while a lot of these kids were still a soup in their parents' groins).

i agree, all chuck norris can do is a roundhouse kick. I saw Walker Texas Ranger and he does five round house kicks in every fight scene. I also think the roundhouse kick is impractical. It leaves your balls exposed.
