  • dos lindos de la vida.

  • They are laughing because it's supposed to be campy with the soft rays and mist. It's a parody of all the sappy songs back then. 1969 was uber sappy, dramatic (great) songs. They were pretty cute here.

  • i love the comedy go between of the time. it shows humour in their own actions and performances, a light hearted show, though it is delightful and sumptuous to watch today

  • Laughing is all to do with use of song for some temporary (no easy way for householder to record a television program in those days) entertainment. . Especially such a thing as a medely. The television production company would have to pay in today's money, 250 thousand pounds, to use each song-in-full, with no interfeeing laughter. . The engenious use of laughter interferrence, gets around those cost factors. . Cheers. from, del-boy.
  • This is hilarious. My experience in beginning sound and video editing suggests that an un-related, and probably originally unintended, second sound track with laughter has been over-dubbed onto this master tape, and went out without the editor realizing it since the laughter doesnt occur until a 30 seconds into the set by which time an editor doing a check would end. Never the less it is way funny. And this is a great song and I hope there's another version of this particular cover. Cheers.

  • is there toilet paper of their shoes or something? why are they laughing??

  • WTF were the producers on? Suppose it was the 60's, but that ridiculous canned laughter is just plain WRONG!!!!!!!

  • Je ne comprend pas ces rires

  • WHY PEOPLE LAUGHING?

  • Yeah, the laughter is a shame, because back in the day, that was a good clip, I'd like to see it again without that crap..

  • just wanted to let you know how much i love cilla black. shes beautiful so as your obviously a fan.. pleaase add me and cheak out my tribute vidoe :)

  • i don't see anything funny. These are two great artists. The canned laughter was in poor taste.

  • This is definitely an added " laughing applause " audio track used to enhance the clip here..lol....

  • OH right, I never could work out the laughter in this clip. :)

  • See CjaCiFcz8FU on Youtube for the whole video. It is actually VERY cool from a very cool time period.

  • This is a clip from a talk show that had both Cliff and Cilla on and they and the audience were laughing about how silly they looked then. We all laugh at ourselves from a long time ago........The clip ends before they go back to the real show.

  • Two singers that make britain a joke, just awful.

  • he,s just a camp old queen

  • This would be a great video if it weren't for the idiotic laugh-track.

  • I dont think the laughing was from the audience. If it was.....Cliffs expression and the female artists would of said something. I think the laugh track was a after thought or a spoof much after the performance was done.

  • I don't undestand why they are laughing

    I't's not funny

    How young they look xx

  • @BiffFrog It's funny: he should be singing with (to) another guy.

  • so this is an attack on WHite culture - wow I think you will have to something a little more harsh than this to hurt my White ASS

  • I think the laughter took away from their performances. I thought they looked nicely dressed considering with what some people are wearing now a days.

  • i agree.

  • Thats funny that the laughter from the playback audience has offended and pleased people. And been taken out of context. I'm a huge Cliff fan and think this is a terrific duet and terrific clip laughter n all.

Its the best duet Cilla has ever done...

  • And another thing i don't understand why they would want someone staring at their ass all day. It makes me sick

  • why is evry1 laughin??

i dont personally think its funny

  • It's a separate "laugh track" that someone (jokingly) dubbed over the singing and it was not from this original performance. So it creates the illusion that the audience is laughing at them singing. It's someone's stupid joke ruining a perfectly good and classic performance.

  • ohh ok

  • This duet is considred by many people as a classic. Whoever dubbed in the laughter is a moron and typical of those people who seem to take delight in making fun of Cliff Richard.

  • tonypmcfc,

This over-dubbed, insolent, defacement (laugh track) is an attempt to insult Cliff and Cilla personally, but it is also an attack on modernism, White people, heterosexual values, and the West. This is a common and growing problem on YouTube now: audio defacement by the Enemy in the culture war. .... Keyboards are the weapons now, but that will change---into the streets, soon.....Where I live, we don't tolerate physical or cultural vandalism.

  • Looks like I judged it harshly looking at some of the comments explaining the laughter. But I still get the feeling that the clip was included to take the p**s out of these two fine performers.

  • @bboucharde right on bro

  • this video so wonderful! I dont see any wrong why they laughing. Thats not nice.

  • Why don't young men dress fashionable and stylish like this anymore? I'm so sick at looking at sloppy dirty pigs in their disgusting mush feet Rebocks or stupid flip-flops and baggy jeans (it's always jeans) hanging to the ground like the loser idiots that they are. Our culture is in the toilet. The bar is so low now that a slithering slug can't crawl under it.

  • Amen to That! I been waiting for some one too say that

  • Thanks. It's so true. I saw a guy the other day with no shirt on & his baggy jeans were so low that 12 inches (!) of his boxers were showing which means the waist to his pants were in the MIDDLE of his thighs above his knees! He thought he was just "all that" & looked tough & cool. I saw how the loser could hardly walk with those things dragging on the ground. I thought, 'You know, if China invaded the U.S. right now they would machine gun him right on the spot, because he can't run.'

  • lol i know right these moron walk like penguins i don't even approve of this in my own Family. I don't want a Guy who Dresses like a total Ass lol

  • Eschatus2,

You nailed it on the head! Good writing, and keep your powder dry. The Day of the Reaction (in the culture war) is coming, and we are going to take our country back and clean out the freakin' barn!

  • As if dressing fashionably and stilishly would make them more cultured! The culture has allways been in the toilet, exept after 30+ years have passed. Then Everyone says: oh they were so moral and well dressed. Just look at Serge Gainsbourgs song from two years earlier, 1967. Nothing polite or proper about them. Stylish though.

  • That laughter is soooo out of place, the moron who dubbed it in must be a psycho!

  • The laughter has been dubbed on! Both Cilla & Cliff are great entertainers. 5*

  • Indeed, dunno how ppl can think the audience would laugh at them..

  • LMAO @ COMMENTS!!! But look at his walk (sway), this is what triggers the laugh.

  • this medley is amazing and the singers too wtf they laugh. bllody idiots

  • I see nothing funny about this video. Cravats are awesome, a fine respectable piece of neckwear.

  • How bloody rude!

For one singer with a "laughable" voice and another with dubious fashion sence They aint done to badly out of it.

  • i watched it it was a show in early 90s,2 celebrate cillas career, cilla and cliff was sat on sofa watchin clip. cilla actually said wot they laughin at(audiance) but they were laughin 2. about time through the years song etc. beleive me cilla and cliff were laughin 2 , think it was more about fasion and looks not voices. i was there.

  • I can understand the laughter,Cilla's voice is as usual laughable and Cliff Richhard is wearing the most ridiculous clothes ever seen in the history of TV.

  • I cannot believe that Cliff Richards and Cilla Black are laughed at. Who did this video must be out of is mind..with the laughter at the background..

  • i agree with you,not nice.

  • Bizarre clip. She's dreadful as usual. And Poor Cliff is getting laughed at by the apparently drunken TV audience!

  • She tried so hard to copy Dionne at every single opportunity. So much for originality. But, Dionne got the last laugh. She's sold over 100 million records, won 5 Grammy awards and is today considered one of the greatest singers in the world. What is Cilla? A washed-up TV personality.

  • Man, you're mean. Geeze...lighten up already...

  • ImpatraZ I think you need to check your facts rather than skewing things to suit your own tastes. Dionne has indeed had great success in music, but Cilla has had an incredibly successful career - with stage, television and music. Being the highest paid femail on British television is hardly 'washed up'.

  • I find the dreadful singing and similarly dreadful dress sense hilarious, Cilla Black was to pop what Florence Foster Jenkins was to opera, as for Cliff he was and always has been awful

  • The laughter is really annoying. I'm a "modern audience" and I don't find it remotely funny.

  • I believe the laughter is coming from "later day" viewers watching this old clip because the

1969 audience wouldn't have thought it funny.

    [the video stops early]

  • it says 6 mins but it only does 1 half mins

  • They seem to be laughing at cliff.

  • Shame about the laughter,I remember this being shown on her anniversary show, but I am sure I have also seen this clip before in its original form ie. without the laughter and not such good quality either. Cilla is the best anyway no doubts about that.!!!

  • Have it from good authority tat this clip must come from a 1980's programme celebrating Cilla's 30 Years in showbiz.......Cilla and Cliff were watching the clip and the audience were indeed laughing at the styles and presentation of the 60's show....Not, I hasten to add Cilla's performance

  • I'm wondering if the laughter is not from the original version. Maybe this clip was being shown on another show - maybe to highlight 60s corniness or something - and the laughter is from the studio audience watching the clip, NOT the original 60s audience. Hope this makes sense.

  • It won't go beyond 1:28 for me either! Pity!

  • I can't get it to play past 1:28. What are they laughing at ???????
