Ele canta e encanta, não precisa de maquiagem, nem de roupas apertadas, nem de rebolar, só ele, sua banda, sua guitarra, sua linda voz que vem da alma e nos mata de amor. Ele é o cara....

Saw Johnny perform here in Calgary back in the late-1970s. He was with Juice Newton, if I recall correctly. Anyone else remember him touring with her back then? He's got one terrific blue-eyed soul voice and "Poor Side of Town" is probably my favourite of his, followed closely by "Baby I Need Your Lovin'."
Saw Johnny at Casino Rama a few years ago, near Orillia, Ontario. Johnny, when you coming back to Canada, man? You are my all time favourite singer, have most of your albums... you were even better at Rama than at the Hook and Ladder Club in '72, man. Keep going, Johnny. We love ya.
This is just wonderful, so mellow and beautiful. I used to buy albums and have very few singles, but this is one that I bought, way back in 1986. Brings tears to my eyes, like I am sure it did to Johnny when he wrote it.
Saw Johnny Rivers last evening. The show included some nice blues shuffles and other...sort of R& B stuff before the hits.....his voice was in great form...my personal favorites were "Poor Side of Town" ( I could have gone home happy after that one ) and a house rockin' version of "Secret Agent Man". On Secret Agent his guitar had that blistering sound of the original track...plus some
I really liked this video, brings back a lot of memories. I had this song on an old 45 when I was just a kid, after all these years I still love this song. thanks
I agree. Johnny Rivers should have been inducted into the R-n-R Hall of Fame years ago. After seeing some of their recent inductees, it is clear that they have their heads up their rectums.
It is a CRYING SHAME Johnny isnt in the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame. He sure deserves a place there. After all he has certainly earned it a thousand times over. he is, simply put "A Living Legend" and a true southern gentleman.
Every Hall of Fame, whatever for, makes members meet THEIR standards, and a lot of GREAT people have been left out for reasons unrelated to their occupation....sad but true..
@elephantinrm I don't care where he is FROM. I have met him several times and he has always conducted himself as a "true southern gentleman" which may be a metaphore but nonetheless TRUE and as far as it being an act I can assure you it is NO act. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and that is a FACT. That is unless you are a smart azzz know it all and in that case I'm sure he would have as little use for you as I do.
It is a damn shame he is not in the Rock n Roll hall of fame with all of the greats. I wish I knew who to complain too. One of the best around that is still alive.
Class Act - simple as that. STILL going!!!! I'd pay to see him here. Wow - Can't say enough of how I respect this Guy's attitude, contribution, and style. Oh yeah, like the audience's background vocals - very cool. You're living my dream.
