Interesting and not so scary looking as I first thought it might be. I'm just wondering if you have been able to update your Nexus S to version 4 as yet.I have the 3G/GSM version of the Nexus S and so far there has been no sign of OTA updates.I did download a supposive ICS ROM from XDA developers or something like that.There is reports of poor battery life with this although Giggle hasn't mentioned any fixes or possible patching for the Nexus S.Do you have info on this/am I getting my hopes up?

I just updated my HTC wildfire to android 2.3.7, originally from 2.1 and rooted it and up to 2.2.1 and now to 2.3.7 using the latest custom rom called cynaogen mod. So far it works pretty good surprisingly

No error. Like I said, I was stock rooted 2.3.5. The OTA d/l, restarted to install, it took me to the recovery & just sat there w/ a triangle that had an exclamation point in the middle of it & a green android guy next to it. I saw a yellow status bar for a second, but then it disappeared & nothing else happened. The screen just sat there with triangle & android guy. I left it like that for an hour!

So, I went back to stock rooted 2.3.5 & I got the OTA update, but when I restarted my phone for it to install I saw the little status bar, but now all I have is an Android guy w/ a triangle & a big exclamation mark in the background & it's just sitting there?! Actually, that does bring up another question. Now that you mention it, his setting and sync app is definitely different than the norm and a few options aren't present (ie the ability to sync picasa photos....not that I would, just saying its not there). I wonder if I can just swap the APK with a stock syncandsettings app and be good?

I probably wasn't listening or maybe it should of been said, or maybe it was the only way that would WORK for me, but judging from the blue text in recovery mode means you shouldn't be rooted and be on stock obviously, and you don't have to name it update.zip. I had to revert from an already stock but rooted 2.3.5 back to bone stock, none rooted 2.3.5 and then I flashed the 2.3.7 update non rooted. Just make sure it's on the sdcard. I didn't have to name it update.zip. That doesn't work for some

This update keeps aborting when I try it. The only difference between my NS4G and the factory setup is the Kernel. My dumb self forgot to do a backup BEFORE I flashed the kernel so I can't go back to stock. -_-!
