From what I can tell is that they have only removated the old Divarty unit buildings on the main part of campus for the students. It's funny it looks is if you are actually in the building that I lived in from the roof top view. Plus I am pretty sure that the third floor in that building is haunted, you are brave to go in there.
I was stationed there from '86-'89 and lived in those Discom barracks and cooked in the what looks like destroyed mess hall. It seems as if all my hard there was for nothing and to be forgotten now. I wish there was some way for the school to keep at least one of these buildings up.
I miss this place, I grew up there as a child when my dad was in the Army. It was a beautiful base........Went to Elementary school there and was a Mustang, they could've closed shittier bases like Fort Sam Houston. Sad to see the place so forgotten.
My father went to basic Training at Fort Ord....then on to Ft Bragg and 82nd ABN. The 7th Inf. of Ft Ord saw alot of action in Korea, was a driving force in many of the battles.Sda to see it tossed aside with little to no fanfare..
If that was room 313 across from the missle shop (the Big wood biuildings on 4 th street i was station with hhc 707th bn from 83-sept 84 and in 84 i was Repair & Utilites specalist . I Blame the STUPID U.S.C. Monterey Bay for the Damage done to those building including the DISCOM mess hall that was built in 1984 and now that building is damaged beyond repair . Same with the Bowling Center STUPID U.S.C.Monterey Bay
I live across the street from those barracks now at the dorms at CSU Monterey Bay. Finally got the courage to walk inside and explore around in those barracks a few weeks ago. It was very interesting. Kinda creepy too. I didn't know you could get to the roof.
i was a dependant there from 90-93, age 14-17 we moved into a brand new house in base housing at that time. i wonder what happened to all of those houses? i loved it there. they had a nice gym too
jamaican police wants to kill me because of an accident in which they are wrong and fabricate the statement and seize my car the investigating officer sergeant gardener from spanish town send inspector allen from halfway three to kill me and frame me on july 29
man this is depressing lol! I was born here in June of 85' but moved to the islands when I came of 4. I am currently a ROTC cadet and will be commissioning next year and I was hoping to be station here but I found out a year ago that it closed down. 7th ID! hooah!
i grew up there in the the late 80's for 5yrs., best part of my childhood. i went back there 2yrs ago, complete shock! i live at 315 Third Ave, close to the border of seaside.
Geez fellas...This is eerrie and very sad for me.I was a young light fighter soldier stationed there from 86-88 with 127th signal. Some of the best memories of my life and some of the worst also.I want to go visit there now.I have just went back in time!!!
Seaside is my hometown and back in the 80's I could hear a lot of weapons being fired and my grandfather, who was stationed there as well, showing me around out there. It's hard to drive through now and see everything boarded up. Funny how time hasn't been kind to Fort Ord.
I think the place IS haunted. Pretty spooky in there.

dizpin: CSUMB has renovated a number of the buildings that they use for student housing. A lot of the buildings are still in bad shape though.
