Ok geniuses of the TT01 world who need answers to get parts allow me to introduce you to the parts our friend here has. His carbon chassis was a conversion kit from 3 racing which is one of the top of the line hop up companies and It will include the motor mount and the upper deck and some screws. His aluminum parts were also from 3 racing but some may be from Yeah racing or X SPEDE racing. You must have most of the original TT01 parts for this conversion but one thing that may be a problem for
@sharingan180185 Hi there i made my own mounts from plastic and hold the body on with velcro it works fine just took a bit of work to get the body height right. hope this helps.
@thewhitewill can you give me more tips please, coz I dont know what kind of plastic parts you use, you would help me alot, really bodymount holes are so damn ugly :(
@sharingan180185 Hard to explan but they are screwed the the origanal post holes, its just a bit of old pvc i had the only hard bit is the hight of the shell.
hey man i got a very similar set up on my tt01d and im doing all the graphite and hop ups as we speak, one problem though is the steering posts with the 3racing graphite kit dont seem to hold the yeah racing alluminium steering arms, they have the plastic bush with the metal collar that goes on top, but when there screwed down the wobble up and down. i see u have the same parts, but u put bearings instead of the plastic bush, what size are they and do they still have up and down play in them?
Hi there not sure what size they are i bought the whole bearing kit and they came with it but there was still some play in them i put a small washer underneath to stop it and works well hope this helps. You can pick up a bearing kit for a few pounds from ebay or your local hobby shop.
i think if the collar wasnt too long it wouldnt have this problem because the collar atleast exceeds the length of the bush (were you have a bearing)< this causes it to move up and down atleast half a cm, i might try hit up some local bearing shops and if that doesnt work, might try to fabricate a bush to go between the collar and the inside diameter of the center hole to fill the gap.
oh and btw, when you said you bought a bearing kit, did you mean the steering kit came with the bearings, or you bought a tt01 bearing kit and it happened to come with ones that fit the steering holes?
hm... its damn nice but it looks very hard to change the whole chassis especially when you got the servos and the stuff thats sticked to the tt-01 chassis... i am thinking if i should do it or not... is it alot lighter than the normal chassis? and how long did it take you to finish the whole conversion? thanks mate.
Its much better than the standard tt01 in lots of ways and it only took a few hours to do the whole thing plus a bit us messing around to get the wiring sorted.
dude if u look at Tamiya's TRF's and TB Evo's, u'll see dat da gears r exposed. and yes the carbon is liter than plastic. and its really easy to do if ur experienced enuf
