FriPilot - that was a 290 fuel squeezer, not a 390. I had one in a '76 freightlner. Drove all 48 in it with no jake brake, no power steering and wonderful spring ride. And half that time was team driving.
When we moved out here to Oregon from Maryland in the Summer of '79, The Global Van Lines trailer that hauled our stuff was pulled by an IH Transtar COE sleeper rig with I think a Cummins 555 in it, It was a nice looking and sounding truck.

First truck I ever drove too. She drove sweet, though not much power with that little 390 fuel squeezer engine.
