Actually no. Flight simulator is a hobby. Some of these people may not have the funds to pay for a pilots license so this may be the only alternative they have. Even real world pilots have similar setups.

Can you go to every track you want at any given moment? The answer is no. Sims like iracing are far more advanced and intricate than fsx for example, also iracing is used for pro racing drivers to learn cars and tracks.
