Less clothing can make it easier to move, and it also makes it more of a challenge- skin/pole contact, teaches positioning and self discipline.

Plus, as in this case, it can add sensuality.

There are plenty of girls with 'clothes' on as you put it (this covers about as much as my bikini) all over youtube- go watch them if you don't like exposure. :]
