good slides and all but I can't get into this version at all.  Its not the songs fault but I grew up with the rocky mountain christmas version on dad's old LP with the pops and seemingly slower pace. The other version is #2 on YT, just not sure why this one is #1

It isn't Christmas without some John Denver songs, especially this one. I'm only 20, but I grew up singing to John Denver with my mom, and have grown to have a great deal of respect for this man and artist. I live in Colorado....snow or summer, it is always quite beautiful.  We all get so busy with life that it is easy to forget to actually 'see' what is around us. Beautiful song that reminds me to honestly look at the beauty, which makes the mundane worth it.

The original version of this is on his "Rocky Mountain Christmas" album. I think it was released in 1974. Words can't even describe how many memories and warm feelings I get from hearing this song, and in fact the entire album. If you don't have it, I can HIGHLY recommend it !!!
