although it's short, this video still gives me chill bumps. that says a lot. i'm hard to impress. something about watching these old engines, in all their glory, makes me sad. their moaning, almost mysterious and melancholy whistles, and powerful chug, chug, chug of their powerful steam pistons make me long for an earlier time. i still remember when my dad used to take me to the station in dequincy, la. in the mid-fifties as they were phasing out steam. even at that young age, i preferred steam.

Thanks for the vids ervans, that's a really nice engine. Sadly today in Ireland there are few freight trains if any at all, I would spend my lunch break at school watching the Guinness train go past when I was 5 years old.
