We talked about all of this one day and he noted that most concealed carry holders, not all, but most, are in reality better handlers of firearms than most LEO's. Second of all, that's not relevant since CCW holders are not cops. They don't carry guns to enforce the law. They only carry for their own self defense, so they don't need the same training.

What is considered a "need" for a CCW permit in California? This video doesn't say it, but the truth is it's whatever the county Sheriff thinks it is. The whole system of "may issue" goes totally against how police in our society are supposed to function. In a true democracy, legislators are supposed to make the laws and police only enforce them. Allowing the police to determine how the laws are implimented puts too much power over an important issue in at the individual descresion of cops

So, we can't carry concealed unless we're politically well-connected or if we can demonstrate a "need" - despite having more than the "hours and hours" of training that police apparently have - and now our open-carry rights are under attack. I love how all the Proposition 8 supporters were up in arms about marriage being up for a vote, but our right to defend ourselves in public DIES IN A FUCKING COMMITTEE.

Our country was not founded on the principle that the private citizen should look to or depend on leo's or the military as the only avenue for defense of ones self. Every restriction(including registration and unjust taxes) regarding ownership, carry and transport of firearms is an affront to the constitution. Gun control=lost liberty, and freedom. Any non felonious, mentally stable, law abiding citizen should have the opportunity to make the choice if they want to carry or not.

A good reason to carry. Where does it say anything about having a good reason in the constitution? Your a US citizen, thats reason enough. What that Sheriffs Dept. was actually saying was "we dont want people carrying concealed, but were not going to say that cause an election is coming."

The guy who complained about citizens not having as much training as cops is an idiot! First of all, many citizens have MORE training than an average police officer.
Second of all, that's not relevant since CCW holders are not cops. They don't carry guns to enforce the law. They only carry for their own self defense, so they don't need the same training.
Basically it's like saying ordinary citizens shouldn't drive cars because they don't get the same training as Formula 1 race car drivers

What is considered a "need" for a CCW permit in California? This video doesn't say it, but the truth is it's whatever the county Sheriff thinks it is. The whole system of "may issue" goes totally against how police in our society are supposed to function. In a true democracy, legislators are supposed to make the laws and police only enforce them. Allowing the police to determine how the laws are implimented puts too much power over an important issue in at the individual descresion of cops

People need to recognize that the Constitution does NOT mandate firearms training before a right can be exercised. It shall not be infringed. Since that state violates the Constitution in the most haneious way, citizens must uphold their rights and carry anyway. A march by hundreds openly carrying their handguns in front of the capitol building would send a clear message. Don't tread on me! I did it in city council chambers in violation of an anti gun ordinance. I have the video on my channel.
