I completed Chamber 18 a different way but I suppose your method was probably the most correct solution.

@RNCBProductionz You have to direct an energy ball towards the catcher, then place 2 portals, one high up and in the line of the button, the other at ground level. Jump through, and hit the button as you go, you have to be pretty quick

God, this test chamber is hard! The reason being the very small sized ledge that the red button thing is placed on, I'm having a hard time trying to get on there and stay on there.

This was the first time i got stuck on portal, I couldnt figure out how to get onto the top ledge because there was no way to jump into a portal with enough momentium, long story short I had no idea that ledge was there at 1:48 lol

@Ryd3r22 I redirected the ball before I re-moved the portals, re watch the video, and you'll see the energy ball coming about 3 seconds before that point. You have to do what I did really quickly otherwise the energy ball will just bounce off the catcher.

@Ryd3r22 You're probably just not reacting quickly enough, you do need to be reasonably quick when you place the portals. Remembering your sequencing (so that you fall back into the colour you placed on the platform you are trying to leave) also helps, if you only have to shoot a single portal each time your reaction time increases.

Nah its not that i dont follow, i got the puzzle right on my own its just adding the skill that goes along with that. I have insane reflexes but that works against you because i keep twitching at the last second, trying to re-adjust what would be a direct shot. Call it second thought portal adjustment, but its something i cant change no matter how many times i try i always doubt the shot and thats what gets me killed

Have done, its not to do with that i just cant concentrate. I know where i want the shot to go, i no i can do it but at the last second something else pops into my head and i swing away. Cant explain it but my reflexes are connected to my state of mind, if i question even for a second that i may not be shooting straight i flinch and hence 5 minutes of cursing!

You are playing the advanced version of the chamber, there are other walkthroughs for that one

Its not overly difficult, but some parts require pretty precise timing. If you think TC18 is hard, you should try Portal: Prelude!

@drumie555 You just have to be really quick with them. I have uploaded another version of this walkthough in HD it may be a bit more helpful to you. I can't post the link, but you will find it if you look theough my videos. The mistake you are most likely making is with the sequencing of your portal shoots.

I don't like to make speedruns, the problem is that the user doesn't have a clue what the heck is going on, and with the low res of Video on YouTube that can be a serious problem. My aim was to show users how to beat the challenges at a brisk but understandable pace, glad it could be of some help to you :-)
