Im a Marine that just returned from Afghanistan and I can tell you that regardless of how you feel about war, religion, or politics, seeing the rest of the world from that perspective will change your life forever. Many people see life as a hard, arduous experience that we cannot escape. It is my humble opinion that life is what we concieve and choose. If we concieve life as unfair and grim, we are compelled to make choices of lesser evils. However, all is not lost. If the world we live in has at least one person who believes we are capable of hope and kindness, our choices do not become lesser, but greater.

It's songs like these that will always keep me a fan of 10 Years even though they release a new album (what feels like) every 5 years compared to 1 or 2 by every other band. The depth of their lyrics is so astute and sincere that you can't help but to be touched by the words. Their works are not cheap, made-for-radio, or generic. that's some brutal shit. allthough i'm pretty sure the point of this viseo isn't anti-military. i think of it more as how iraq has gone to hell thanks to all of the voilence that has occured there. to those who are anti-military, the army has a hell of a lot more balls than you to go out and do what they do. if you thought these pictures were disturbing, imagine living this life on a daily basis. thats what our troops do and god bless them.

There is an immense difference between hating America and being anti-military: I am grateful for our freedoms, for our lives, and to all the people who risk and give their lives for that. However, I hate that military units are needed, that war is even an option, and that violence is so easily called upon.
P.S. It is a little harsh to wish that kind of pain on anyone, even terrorists and the like.
