  • Looks like 2 civics racing...Yes its that slow.

  • @blackhatchb20 you have obviously never seen my mom drive her civic....I get sick and say my last rights every time i get in the car with her.

  • This is what I like to see, same brand of truck and same brand of engine. Why are we racing brands against each other? All it does is start conflict. If you have something like this, chances are a Powerstroke lover isn't even going to watch this video. The Powerstroke guy still thinks Ford is the best and the Duramax guys are happy with either result of the race. Everyone's happy.

  • does anyone know much about the banks six gun? i have one on my lb7 duramax and it doesnt seam to work cause ill turn it from 1 to 6 and there isnt any difference

  • @mcripps10 My advice is pull that six gun shit and sell it to someone then go get EFI live. Banks 6 gun does better on a Ford, and if you can tell NO difference make sure all the harnesses and everything are hooked tight. Could be a switch problem. If you want that duramax to do whatever you want throw some EFI live on. Fully tuneable and well worth the investment

  • @DirtyDuramax02 yeah i really want to get either ppe or efi live but those are just a matter of money right now thats why i wanted to see if i could get my six gun to work and ive checked all of my connetions they seamed good but im thinking it could be the switch now but thanks for the advice

  • @mcripps10 Glad to help. Yeah you are gonna spend a little more on EFI live but its worth it with the features. My advice is call Banks Diesel and explain the problem to them. They have pretty good service. I know one of my friends had a Six Gun, and his harness shorted out. He called them and they told him to ship it in and within 6 or 7 days they sent him a whole new one. I would try that first.

  • twin turbo ppe hot=7 stage 5 trans 10.23@146.2

  • i like that idea, poo poos driving PPE tuned dmaxs. hahahah

  • Impressive, only thing i would like to point our is that the LLY stock only makes 310 HP vs the (i'm assuming its a LBZ) which makes 360 HP, then you throw your tuners on there and depending on which setting and the other mods (I.E. the LLY has a very restrictive turbo Inlet) its not really a "shocker" that the LBZ won. but yeah good job, yep alright

  • @cbsmoraine it was not the lbz that won, it was the LLY. You can tell by the flat cut on the exaust, only Lbz exuast look like that, i own one. That ppe was turned way up. The lbz was not tuned so much.

  • @MELOMEOUT my mistake, mis read the top and it threw me all off. yeah your right

  • @MELOMEOUT the video title says 04 vs 07, but the caption says LB7, lol which is it. cause the 07 deffinately isnt an LLY and the 04 could be either the LLY or LB7 so....... its a wee bit misleading should say 04.5 if its a LLY lol yeah im a nerd

  • i saw a guy fry his ECM after he put a PPE on his Dmax. think it was an 06

  • Dang. How fast was that 130

  • i bet the duramax wins

  • why the fuck use diesel trucks to race ESPECIALLY on the highways??

  • @7150285 because its cooler to race diesels than imports with tin can mufflers!!!

  • @97chevyZ71350 a lot of Mustangs and American muscle cars have tin can mufflers.....just because it have a tin can mufflers doesn't necessarily have to be imports. Those two diesel's gonna loose to any cars and SUVs out there when it comes to top speed :)

  • @7150285 true. but with a diesel you can make the other person drive off the road if you get it smoking enough.lol but i prefer trucks over cars because to me they seem safer than a car. plus if i have a diesel and you have a mustang or whatever vehicle you have i can pull your wherever all day long.rotflol

  • @97chevyZ71350 I personally wouldn't prefer trucks ONLY during a certain situation but if it's racing, I definitely would prefer cars over anything else. If I were to use a truck, then Dodge RAM SRT-10 would be my first choice over any other trucks

  • @7150285 dude a diesel can pull 240 on top end. mustang has a hard time maintaining 200. diesels are the shit hands down. plus when the car breaks they can always take their tuned up trucks and tow it home dual purpose, cant beat it. plus look at fuel mileage.

  • @hemipower333 u r absolutely wrong about that, diesel will DEFINITELY loose when it comes to top speed.....not mentioning the acceleration though

  • @7150285 hahaha tell that to my dually that eats ricers for breakfast 260kmh is good enough for a diesel.....

  • @hemipower333 hahaha why dont u upload a video of ur dually going 260 km/h on YouTuben THEN i'll believe it??? and the only way ur dually can eat ricers or any other vehicles is by rednecking ramming them

  • @7150285 haha well what do you drive? obviously nothing special to be a cocky fuck the way you are. as for believing me about the truck doing 260 well thats upto you but with some gearing and some tuning it is possible. so lets let the readers decide. thumbs up if you know a duramax can do it or thumbs down if it cant.

and as for rednecking i am alittle more refined than that whats your excuse.

dont bother replying. try to be the bigger man and leave it. Thanks recneck 7150285. ;)

  • @hemipower333 I have only 1 thing to say to u "go with what u believe man....." and as for thumbs up and thumbs down, ppl who watch this video will usually give thumbs up since this video is about Duramax and most Diesel proponent ppl will watch this vid.

  • LB7 FTW!

  • witch one had the ppe

  • @MrDEEMONEY27 The 07 LBZ had the PPE. Put an EFI Live Race tune on that LBZ and watch it stomp the LB7

  • how much boost are ya runnin'?

  • i would have lol'd if the camera dropped.

  • Haha this is funny because there are 2 totally diffrent engines lol lb7 vs lly or lbz hahaha the funny thing is I have ppe hot + 2 and my best friend has efi live I always beat him on top end haha but good vid

  • All the duramax's are pretty good, mines an LLY and i love it.

  • Comment removed

  • get ppe 425

  • Not into this whole what year Duramax is best thing. Fact is, the best Duramax is a built Duramax... I just like a video of them racing.

  • Stock PPE vs Highly moded truck, I am sure if PPE was in other truck instead of an EFI do ityourselfer hack tune, the outcome would have been even more drastic....

  • it's cool because even stock my 05 3500 hauls ass!

  • not an 04 btw

  • the one that he is in is

  • LLY s suck!!! LMM SON!

  • Congrats on taking down a lightly tuned LBZ with a much more modded and tuned LB7. Bring and stock turbo LB7 over to NC and see how it fares against a nicely tuned LBZ with a lift pump and built trans - bet the outcome is much different.

  • Comment removed

  • @joshuawb13 an EFI tuned LBZ would waste your EFI LB7

  • actually dipshit, that is a 700+ hp truck that was featured in Diesel Power magazine, so no I'll bet the outcome wouldn't be different you dumb cunt.

  • The PPE truck is 700hp+? LOL you are hilarious - is that when Diesel Power did a ricer "crank hp estimation". The LBZ you can come try to run here runs consistant 12.4s with my tuning. It's not like I'm telling you to come run either of our 820+hp (rear wheel, dyno proven on Dunbar's dyno) trucks with built motors - just saying that you should compare apples to apples and run a stock motor and turbo LBZ with some real tuning on it, not a boxed tune.

  • Who said anything about PPE? The white truck that wins in the video is an 04 LB7 owned by Newly Tolf that is tuned by EFI Live and has over 700 dyno proven hp and runs 12s.

  • I know Newly and am well aware of his truck, read the title though. at the time of this vid Newly's truck had a stock turbo and he was showing off that his LB7 beat an LBZ with PPE. I challenged him to come race a stock LBZ with real tuning (my EFI tuning), then you made it sound like you were saying he beat a 700hp truck. At 700hp he should be we into the 11s BTW. I'm excited for him to see how that motor ATS just built him does.

  • That LBZ had stock exhaust, EFI tuning = BOOM, be carefull, you are playing with fire, I have seen this first hand....

  • Since I have had LBZs all over the country running mid 12s for well over a year on my race tunes without any problems to date I think I'll stick to what I'm doing. If you don't know what you are doing or get EFI Live tunes from some one that doesn't you might have something to worry about.

  • Actually Dustin, you are not fully aware of Newlys truck....Back then I was not the one tuning his truck and it was no where near where it is today. 10 second timeslips are on pre-order now too and it is ready to run many events planned this year. -MMLMM

  • I am aware of all that Mike, and I know it was nowhere near where it is today. He's had those 10 second slips on order for a while now though....... I'd like to see him do it on fuel but doubt it will happen. My call-out still applies since his truck is built very similar to mine.

  • Haha, agreed, but he hasnt been to a track since he ran the11....this will be second time at the track since tuning and new motor....I think he will be pretty damn close to a 10 on fuel. we'll see in 2 weeks, I dont think there is enough turbo there for 10s on fuel....

  • He has the same turbo I do and my first pass on the built motor and tuning was 11.18 with the stock intercooler leaking. My next time out I'll show you that there's enough turbo there for 10s on fuel. Good luck to you both.

  • haha, same turbo, but far from same setup man. But either way, Ill watch for the vid and good luck.

  • How so? They are both ECSB LT trucks with SoCal Stage II heads & damper, dual fuelers, oversized injectors, cam, aftermarket manifolds/up-pipes, pedestal, S475 aka "Aurora 6000" turbos, 150gph lift pumps - they sound pretty damn similar to me. I have 20s with 305s for daily driving but also have slicks so no shit I run them at the track. I see you got it up from that 680hp it first dynoed to 753hp - keep at it and you'll get it there.

  • @DieselAddictionLLC Possibly you can help me? i have 2001 3500 chevy with the allison & duramax. My tranny is overheating on an average 45 minute street drive withought no load the temp gauge goes all the way to 210F in order to cool down i will have to jump on the highway or just pull over? not cool!! can it be the converter or the coolant? please help

  • Comment removed

  • @martinez418 The transmission doesn't have separate coolant, it is cooled by the transmission fluid. While the converter is unlocked it creates more heat than it does while locked but it shouldn't be overheating, especially with no load. Check the level, being overfull can cause it to run hot. Also, change your spin on filter and clean the magnet - be sure to use an Allison brand filter, generics are often made wrong and restricted by the magnet. A bigger, better bolt on cooler is available too

  • @DieselAddictionLLC Thanks for the reply. I have change the oil clean the magnet on my Allison, i place a new dealer item filter for that Allison with the proper Allison transmission oil and i am still having the same problem? i took it to an Allison tech, he mention it was the software on my TCM unit, i spent $600 on the unit and it hasent fix the problem at all? know im worried that the tranny is no good, it shift like new it just overheats? any other sugestions??

  • @martinez418 @martinez418 The 1st thing I would try is washing out the cooling stack - the trans cooler, AC, intercooler & radiator - if the're clogged with dirt & bugs it could inhibit their ability to properly cool the fluid. The allison is pretty smart and will typically throw P07XX codes for internal issures that would create heat like a slipping converter or clutches. If you want a better cooler and a pan that will shed some heat call me

  • @DieselAddictionLLC Is the tranny cooler the one by the radiator or the actual other underneath my truck? whats your prices on your pans & coolers. how can i contact you? I had the Tech place his lap top on my trucks computer and do the diagnostics on my tranny, there was no codes throwned? i really need to find out what it is, this is driving me crazyyy!! thanks...

  • @martinez418 The trans fluid runs through part of the radiator and through a separate trans cooler, which is just behind your grill. The small cooler by the fuel tank is the fuel cooler on the return side. The fluid shouldn't be brown, but overheating conventional (non-synthetic) fluid can turn it brown over time. Google search "Diesel Addiction" my site will be the first to come up and it has contact forms and info. There are a few deep pan options ($75-$340) and the bolt-in cooler is $450.

  • @DieselAddictionLLC Whats the normal and stop point tempeture on an Allison transmission?... I just had the tranny completly flush today with new filters once more and Synthetic oil, let see what happens? Thank you for your recent replys:)

  • @DieselAddictionLLC A few weeks ago i had the radiator flush and washed just incase that was the issue?i notice there is another coolant under my truck" a mini size radiator close to the truck bed, is that onother tranny cooler? i ask the Allison tech he was not sure, that is the last time i go to him for help! also i notice by the radiator there is another one, is that the AC intercooler? i also check my tranny fluid, instead of being red' it's brown? i believe is due to the overheating

  • lol, LBZ is the newer motor, makes slightly more horsepower and torque.

  • LB7 is cleaner also

  • lb7s were made pretty stupid with the injectors under the valve covers, newer lbz fixed that problem and they added 10 more horse

  • LLY is one model newer than LB7, and is when they made the injectors externally servicable and when they added 10hp. They also added a cat and EGR. LBZ they went to a different ECM from Bosch, got rid of the FICM, went to a different injector, higher output CP3, stonger trans with 6th gear and bumped hp to 365. But they also went from Mahle to some Korean company for pistons and when the power is cranked up LBZ's have been known to crack pistons at less power than LB7 and LLYs do.

  • so are the new HD's duramax engines/trucks any good? thanks a lot

  • The LMM (07-10) is still a great engine. With a lift pump and tuning we can get them over 530hp at the rear wheels. They come with the 6 speed trans that's a little stronger than the 05 and older trucks had. The biggest thing is that to get good economy out of them you have to install an exhaust and put some tuning on them.

  • i got an LBZ they are good

  • DMAX diesels RULE !!

  • Yep. But then this video is stupid, your truck is modded, the other is stock.

  • is this true??

  • That LBZ was running a PPE tune, but STOCK exhaust? And didn't puff any more smoke than a Hypertech on stage 1. You whooped him for sure, and with your mods list, you'd whoop one with a PPE HOT +2 tune also, but lemme tell ya, that was a weak tune on that LBZ. Don't believe me? Search my videos...I've got a couple smoke vids with a PPE HOT+2 Eliminator tune and it makes that look stock. And everybody knows LBZ's smoke WAY more than LB7's. Nice kill, though.

  • LLY POO POO

  • @nwtdiesel ....the LLY motors are better then the LB7's the first gen's blow injectors an stuff......my brothers 05 LLY has not had a problem yet with it

  • @nwtdiesel That 07 is an LBZ

  • @nwtdiesel No LLY in this race...

  • @nwtdiesel there is no lly here...

  • rather have my LLY.

  • BD turbo, EFI custom tunes, stage 5 trans............12.41@108.7

  • @nwtdiesel

Is this your truck? Also what kind of milage did you get out of the old injectors i purchased from you a month or so ago. im getting 13.5 mpg unloaded and 11 mpg loaded.

  • @nwtdiesel what size bd turbo?

  • @nwtdiesel how much would it run me to get an efi live tune with a mileage, smoke, lope, and race tune? i think thats my next mod. and would it be safe to run that on a stock tranny with increased line presure?

  • LB7's are the best duramxes ever! woohhhooo

  • i wouldn't say that,i've seen some sweet LLY's and LBZ's in fact the fastest Duramax is a LBZ block and it runs high 7's in the quarter.

  • yeah what did you do to your lb7

  • ...............x2

  • ..............x2

  • okay whats done to that LB7?if you don'tmind me askin

  • got em
