  • its the beginning of nothing.......

  • His ninth symphony is yet to come, you know . . .

  • The eerie thing about this song is that he wrote it BEFORE 9/11.

  • you guys make Heathen and Reality look like they're masterpieces when they're nothing more than average albums.... He sure is a genius, and the records are good but those weren't his best times...

  • @sonicadv27 I dont think Heathen is an average album... Its more than popular, it sounds to me like a classical symphony about a world after 9/11. And Reality is his final statement and mature reflections on his own musical past. Do you see other artists making that things out there? Bowie may doesnt think so, but I think so, and I believe he's one of the few genius in popular culture.

  • @sonicadv27 E... você é de Portugal e eu do Brasil... e ainda escrevemos em inglês!!

  • @ferdinandsouz lol verdade xD

Não que não aprecie Heathen e Reality, mas apenas não chegam à qualidade de outros trabalhos, esses sim geniais, do Bowie.

  • The more I listen to Heathen the more I love it. In the years to come this along with Reality will be viewed as major classics. They both have a wide range of sound, ideas and amazing words. Lyrically this is a masterpiece.Old fans who wrote Bowie off when Let's Dance came out lost out on an amazing journey of Bowie's best work that includes Earthling. Wow what a great cd that is.

  • I love this song, but it always makes me incredibly sad. Probably because the album was released at a pretty difficult time in my life.

  • this is shit bowie

  • yet another Bowie classic :)

  • so much better than friday

  • so? a chorus made up entirely of farm animals with the conductor having a stroke is better than friday.

  • amazing album, amazing song, amazing bowie

  • This song reminds me of another Bowie song "A small plot of land"

  • for all you scott walker fans out there, this is one of those songs where bowie clearly tipped his hat to scott. he started singing more and more this way from "white noise..." on. Check out "you've been around" which is even more walker influenced.

  • @splankhoon

So true. Walker seems to be a decades-long influence for Bowie. Anyone Bowie is influenced by should immediately be investigated!

  • Best David Bowie song

  • nothing has changed...everything has changed.

this is how I feel sometimes. they're such simple words strung together, and yet they totally encompass how I feel about myself and my life right now. David Bowie is such a genius for being able to do that, time and time again.

  • What a pearl. Really.

  • @athletepidginon Hahaha gahd why can't you people stop adding those extra "i"'s in "mp3ify"???? ;D People everywhere are asking why can't they find such things as "mp3iiiiiiiiiiiify". Even just adding one "i" to it is as useful as leaving it all UNSAID :D

  • i love the the old bowie songs, but i like the newer better because his voice is deeper and just sounds amazing

  • I remember David Bowie saying the records after black tie white noise was the ones that reflected himself. Correct me if I'm wrong, please, I'd appreciate it!!

  • pure class !!! that`s what`s missing today!!Any you can have your tomorrow`s! For me the only thing to look foward to is the past!!!

  • Heathen is the most powerfull album of this decade. Reality is probably in that top too.

  • @ledgerdeathshit There have only been 2 albums all of which you have mentioned in that decade, but I totally understand what you mean. Reality and Heathen are very powerful and they should stand out just as much as ziggy stardust or Hanky Dory (or how ever you spell it). You might disagree, but I think that the album Hours... was part of the earlier decade of the 1990s. Last thing, Bowie...We gotta hear more stuff! We've been waiting a little over 8 years and nothing else new yet.

  • @Ghaiyst *correction "Hunky Dory" sorry I dont know what I was thinking.

  • No one, and I mean NO ONE makes better music overall than Bowie. Look at the picture on this "video" here, see how one eye is dilated? It is from an accident that happened when he was very young, Permanently dilated. The one eye is actually a different color than the other too.

  • mmm from what i've read it isn't actually another colour at least not too start with (:

it just appeared darker because of the pupil but who knows it might have changed since he was younger? I

  • @CandleSwan, well, I suppose one could split hairs over that, but if you google "David Bowies Eyes" (use the 'Images" search) and open the first one that comes up, take a close look.

  • @CandleSwan I read that he was punched by a jelous boyfriend of some girl he was shagging. Punched him right in the eye and now the pupil is perminantly dialated.

  • @alphidee78 The funny bit is that he was actually punched by his high school friend George Underwood (it really was over a girl). But despite this incident they remained good friends and Mr. Underwood even contributed to some of the artwork of Bowie's albums.

  • @pastol Technically the eyes are the same colour. As you mentioned, one is permanently dilated and therefore gives the appearance of being darker.

  • woah!

    Awesome song!

  • "Nothing has changed

    Everything has changed"

Sounds like nonsense, but when you start to think about it is it is a deep and profound truth in it.

  • sometimes every day is like sunday....unfortunately

David Bowie looks beautiful here , just as usual......

he is never bored with looking good

    great song....the harmony is angelic

  • the first time i heard it i didn't really like it, but then i listened to it all the way through a few times and now i love it. bowie at his tops.

  • Excellent morceau !

La version du Live à Dublin est sublime.

  • la piel esta muy estirada, y el espacio entre la nariz y la boca se a expandido, y

  • you are absolutely right

  • Scary monster or super creep lol

anyway, this song is genius, and I'm not just saying it.

  • I agree Heathen is a brilliant album.

  • @racyweb

This is his BEST album overall.

  • @racyweb its like a photoshopped face that resembles bowie, he has one green eye and one brown.

  • @BeastCoastBoarding Both are the same colour, one is just permanently dilated.
