@BrianHR100 it is a pity indeed but now we have more control in this industry so you need to take a stand & support what you are interested in. Good talent like this can only be suppressed for so long. Looking forward to going to one of their concerts in 2012!
This music , if available as an instrumental would make great music for the Red Arrows Aerobatic Diplay Team to fly to :)) in fact it reminds me of the music that was on BBC special "Concorde" that Noel Edmonds presented back in the 80s.
I have watched this video on my 20 year old VHS many many times. The audio on the old media is still very good. But to see this video in HD really allows us to get a much more vivid impression of the brilliance of these productions. I feel like I have seen this for the very first time. I now have synapses firing that I thought I lost many moons ago. What a fantastic treat.
@MusikIsUniversal Try Depeche Mode (if you haven't already that is!) - Songs of Faith & Devotion album is similarly dark & beautifully written & a good place to start if this kind of song is your style.
@nezangel Enjoy the Silence is quite possibly my favorite song of all time. I also enjoy some of The Cure's darker stuff (Lullaby - if you listen, you can hear the influence this song had on Chevelle), and Duran Duran's Come Undone. Good stuff, thanks =)
@MusikIsUniversal Hehe, that's probably my favourite song of all time too and I also love the other tracks you mentioned. Clearly you have good taste. :o)
I have been a fan since 1982/83...when I first heard Mad World. This is probably one of my top 3 favorites, if not THE favorite...I remember hearing it the year it was released, I was graduating from HS, and played it over and over and over again....still do!
Thanks for the detailed account of this pairs break-up. I knew there was friction but thought bit was personal, not musical. So glad Orzabal stuck to his path and produced a really great compilation CD, which has aged so well, of which 'Laid so Low' is a little classic by itself.
Junio,1997...son las 22:10 y ha sonado la campana de la salida del colegio, debo esperar el colectivo de regreso a casa, camino muy lento cerca de la ruta y en mi walkman Sony comienza a sonar.....
Tears for Fears darker stuff is amazing. So much emotion and pain.

My favorite TFF song. Anyone know of any similarly styled dark wave? The 80's are unstoppable.

Uh. No. Iasitu. The split was blamed on Rolands frustration on Smith doing NOTHING,but press BS.
while, Roland was stuck in Neptunes Kitchen writing all the music (AKA, The GOLD).
