Depends of the model of the epiphone :) There are some 100 $ Epi and 1500 $ Epi =) I personally think that Gibson sounds better, but the reason why i'm gonna buy a Epiphone, is that it is way cheaper ! A Gibson les paul Studio is now about 1800 $ and a Epiphone Les Paul Standar ( about the same thing as a gibson studio ) is about 800 $ Will I really pay 1000 $ more to have a Gibson Logo on my guitar's neck and a LITTLE TINNY more sound and material quality ? No way :P !

they are too far from each other! if i compare what i see to my own epiphone and all the other epiphones, there's a big difference. but as long as there nothing wrong with the guitar and it plays well, that's not really a big issue :)

Hey Jag, get some sort of program or effects unit (or just a cheap metronome) that has beats in it. Practice doing it at a slow speed PERFECT and then build it up. It won't take long to develop the speed. John Petrucci (Dream Theater) has some amazing lessons out there.
