From what I know of the plane, it's a very unstable airframe. Good idea, somewhat good design, very slow(not fast) but it just look like the airframe had enought stress and broke apart. It looks like the pilot ejected and I hope is was okay.

I liked the part from1:38 as the footage of the aircraft disintegrating is replayed at slower speed. From1:46 one can hear the crowd and commenator's voices subseqently slowed down also which sounds quite amusing, like hearing a load of moo cows! Praise to the Stealth's pilot who managed to ensure the aircraft crashed out of harm's way and ejected safely before impact.

lucky they didnt pass out when the wing fell off, imagine the g-force on that brutal turn, ouch! lucky to have ejected safely. The wings FLAP couldn't support the amount of airflow or 'stress' thus causing vibration on the flap, and then on the wing, resulting in it breaking off..simple aviation. Im not an expert, im 17.

The F-117 was a first generation stealth fighter. Anyone who works with technology knows that first generation anything doesn't last. Think first generation PCs, cell phones, etc. That said, I believe the accident report stated that there were missing wing bolts. Somebody didn't put the wing on properly after maintenance. Oops.
