I have to say this. Although I never agreed with our former President's stance on certain issues, I always maintained that his forte was/is his sense of humour. This proves it! He could laugh at himself in the midst of great tragedy and upheaval. For this, he has always had my respect.

Seeing President Bush and Barbra Streisand put their differences aside shows that love and humanity conquers all. As has been said before we are all people, and in essence we all want the same things.

As Barbra herself so eloquently put it; this was an occasion when ART transcends politics. The timing of this award was very poignant with Bush on his way out etc; and really puts everything into pespective ... whe it really comes down to it; we're all just "People".
