@trichoone I think you might recognise the Manx equivalent "Blein Vie Noa" ! It is pretty close to the Scottish Gaelic equivalent "Bliadhna Mhath Nuadh" (more in sound than in writing although we would usually say Ur instead of Nuadh nowadays)
I have this sung by Doc Watson on a record, took me a while to remember where I had heard this before, lol.is called old age, senility, "maltheimer" or a combo of all. :)
@UISTMAN59 right now,I am not at my place, but when I get back, I will be able to tell you exactly where and when if it is of interest for you. Happy Easter...er,, New Year to you to! :>
@UISTMAN59 And a Happy New Year to you too, Iain! I just realized the joke in this, Mister Smarty! One post, two Happy New Year's greetings for the price of one, lol
Tá sé sin go deas! Coinnigh suas an obair maith a Uistman59. Gabh i leith, céard "cuideachd" i nGaeilge? Fresin? Chuala mé an focal seo i gcónaí ar BBC Alba...
@michealomainin Ann an Gaidhlig chanadh sinn "Cum ort" far an canadh sibhse "Gabh i leith." Tha am facal "cuideachd" Gaidhlig a ciallachadh "freisin" (ann am Beurla "also" & "too").
A truly lovely version of this song. I just love it ! Great pics too. Do I see one of the Infirmary Bridge at Inverness and one of the Caledonian Canal.
Happy New Year to you and yours, and many thanks for sharing your posts with us . I look forward to enjoying more of the same in the coming months.
Thanks so much - how beautiful this is in Gaelic!..

Cripes this is Gaidhlig. Ignore my last comment :S
Evidently my knowledge of Gaeilge is not as good as I thought it was.
