tells us its free and puts a link to buy it. scumbag. i really dont see the benefit to having a software picture of a controller anyway. if i was content to use my mouse I wouldn't care about the layout of the keys. I guess you seelling this to make money for the real thing. I cant blame you buddy.
That this is wicked cool!!! Great work! You should color code the notes like in the Marcotone system that way you could have a rainbow keyboard lol!
The no octaves thing is a great idea but you can tell when the octave switches way obvious. You can make a sound with a percentage of each octave per note depending on where it is, that way you can tell no difference between them. I think that would work better.
Nice job. It'd be cool to have a toggle hold, and toggle single button only function. I hit a lot by accident, and I'd like to see how buttons further away from each other sound.
Wow, great job with the online version. It allows people to try it out and figure out the system before they (maybe) buy the hardware version. I hope that you're not breaking copyright or patent, but I'm betting that the makers of the hardware keyboard might be interested in having your version on their site as a demo.
Good job! Is there a way to make it play 4 or more notes at once?
(I would also like to see true octaves, although I realize that may be difficult to implement, and it was clever to overlay all octaves in one sound sample!)
I have been working on creating a new version of this keyboard layout simulation that has a full octave range. Unfortunately, because you are limited to a single cursor point, I had to decide on a fixed "radius" for which buttons would be pressed, and if I made the radius too large, the ability to play single notes would be compromised.
If you check the video description on the side, you'll find a link to the newer version on Newgrounds.
That's a nice piece of work! Congratulations to you. I always planned to find a way to do exactly this but with animated fingering patterns for teaching/learning to play our instruments. Do you want a project?!
hey thanks for putting out the link for an interactive simulator
i might want the midi 64 someday it looks sooooooooooo cool!
and i love the Brazillions who came up with such a brilliant idea!

great work man...i was hoping someone could do this! congrats

would work great with a touch screen...

especially multitouch, like an iPad? ;-)

@VJFranzK yes something like that. but the real thing mwould still be better because of the button feedback...

I was really hoping somebody would do this. You are the man.

All that you need now is a multi-contact touch pad, and some multi-threading.

If you look on newgrounds, you'll find another simulation. It's submitted under ths same account. You'll find it.

Harmonic table isnt owned by anyone, so i don't think he is.

Nice work! The "simulated" octaves is a cool touch, but I wish it supported real ones.

finally- a way to replace that awesome 192 key velocity-sensitive performance interface with a horrible mouse interface.

Actually, that's a good idea. I wonder what a 3-D key layout might accomplish? :)
BTW, you can check out a newer version of it on newgrounds too. Check the video info from time to time and you'll see the new link on the bottom.
