  • i loved the sound of the old xsara wrc car, and the c4 sounded even better, much better then the fords, but this sound, while still decent, doesnt match the old engine noises.

  • i personally love the ds3, but the standard road car sounds better than this, frankly if it weren't for the images on screen i wouldnt be surprised to find that it was a nitro rc car not a rally car. frankly they should chav it up, put a 6 inch exhaust pipe on the back and hear it roar, or perhaps introduce a minimum noise level

  • @01Chenti It's not power they're concerned about, it's fuel consumption. These cars are not only racing machines, they also represent cars of the future. Car's of the future need to get better gas mileage, while still making power. Turbos increase mileage, wheres literage decreases it.

  • It's good for everybody, the're gonna make smaller engines and it will be better for people like us. It's economic in gas.

  • In 1986 - about 25 years ago - Lancia Delta S4 produced 480 bhp with a 1759 cc four cylinder supercharged-turbocharged engine. So I think a 1,6 L. turbocharged engine will be more than enough in 2011.

  • It looks and sounds like a J-WRC car regardless of its 300bhp. Im all for turbo restrictors to prevent casualties but this 1.6 I think will greatly decrease excitment on the grounds that it doesnt sound or look as powerful or aesthetic as the old cars..:/

  • ils ont fait un boulot de taré sur le 1.6THP pour en sortir 300ch !!!!! LE ration poids/puissance va être démoniaque surtout avec les 4 roues motrices et son empâtement court ! Le nouvel engin à victoire de loeb/elena =) bon courage a eux et a CTR

  • @polowak La WRC de cette année (la C4) fait 320ch. En rallye, la puissance ne sert à rien, c'est la motricité qui compte. Les C4 sont des 4x4.

    Actuellement, la voiture de série la plus puissante chez Citroën fait 240ch.

  • corenida I don´t agree, it will be great for the sport, the cars nowadays cost around 500 000 Euros each, 2011 around 250 000, and with this big reduction, there will be lots of new teams, bigger competition, not this crap you see today only 2 teams fighting for victory, there will be peugeot, citroen, ford, vw, toyota, suzuki, skoda and fiat, at least this guys, so I think it will be great.... but thats my opinion, and about the cars, don´t worry they will be as fast as the wrc´s of 2010...

  • déjà que la C4 WRC est une tuerie, la DS3 WRC qui en découle ça va être de la bombe! Car en étant plus compacte que la C4, la DS3 sera carrément plus maniable... une bombinette future star des podiums, et on peu tous faire confiance à Citroën et au binôme Loeb/Elena pour ça.

  • ces essai ce sont déroulé à coté de portel des corbières dans l'aude. pour y avoir assisté plusieurs fois c'est toujours aussi génial.

  • They lowered the capacity size down to 1.6 because of emissions.

  • Its for saving production cost, that way more manufacturers , rather than just two , look wat happen to F1 , lowered costs smaller engines, saw the come back of many new faces. So its for the good .. just adapt to the evolution of this sport. Doing rally ain't cheap..

    The NEW regulations are made to keep the Japanese manufacturers out from the competition so that the European manufacturers can have all the publicity.

    It's all about money here.

    FIA is french, Citroen is french, Pipo Moteur are french, so make the connections.

    Citroen could win 20 times the WRC but they will never make history like Subaru, Toyota or Mitsubishi back in the good days.

    A 10 year old Lancer Evo Makinen Edition will piss on every Citroen they will bring

    it might have escaped your notice but the evo and impreza road cars are made to be as close to the wrc regs of the time as possible whilst being a street car. there is nothing to stop the japanese manufacturers doing the same thing again and wiping the smile of citroens face, they just choose not to.

    Subaru at least doesn't have a car for the S2000 class. They don't build small cars like the 207, Fiesta or DS3. And there is also a problem regarding the engine and the gear box position.

  • @corenida this regulation also pushes the r&d beyond its limit.... earlier to this when it was pulled to 2.0 people said something similar... but watch the videos they are equally damn good.... also it makes the car & driver more eco friendly, by making them use the last little drop of energy left & conserve it too... what say :)

    However I don`t understand why they are going for smaller cars from C4 to DS3, Ford from Focus to Fiesta,... I know about new rules regarding smaller turbo engines instead 2.0 to 1.6 but why go for smaller cars and what about the rest of the rules? Can someone please explain?

  • @tyraela115 I'm guessing that the smaller cars are lighter and they have a shorter wheel base which is good in a rally car (or so I heard)
