  • The more I see everybody saying exagerations about Lisitsa, the more Berezovsky rules...

  • Godowsky version is so GREAT!!

    Unbelievable!!

  • I play this song in Guitar Hero.

  • @1232121212321212 Be honest now do you play with one hand or two and what difficulty setting?

  • @VanargrandsEnd It's a featured custom song on Guitar Hero 6. I play Expert. I don't get why you're asking about the number of hands. One on the buttons, one at the strum bar.

  • @1232121212321212 Now see i was just thinking you were just trolling i didnt realise it actually was on guitar hero until i checked lol

  • @VanargrandsEnd My username tends to give that impression.

  • @1232121212321212

    My username is better. :D

  • @1234567890123544baby Mine is less memorable and contains no letters. But, it is pretty neat. ; )

  • There is nothing like slavonic sence of melody! Thats why i love Polish and Rusian composers and musicians. greets from Poland

  • But i prefer Chopin's than Godowsky's .. hehe

  • It's kinda more difficult to play it with only one hand like this, but though it's difficult, he could do it so beautiful. Thumbs up :D

  • ==....demon's left hand

    god's right hand

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love Boris!

  • Boris is sexy. Just sayin'.

  • Maaaan, I don't like how soft he plays this. Still a great play though!

  • I thought that because I can play the Revolutionary Etude, my left hand is in good shape. Then I saw the second half of this video. MLIA.

  • love it!

  • A moment of beauty-Evangelos

  • it's great how he doesn't smudge it all with pedal that lots of performers do to cover up for technical blemishes in their left hand :D awesome!

  • No applause at the end of a brilliant performance of grueling, impossibly difficult etudes and transcriptions!!! Was the audience AWOL???

Seriously, this guy can do no wrong.

Oh, by the way please stop by my YT page to hear my Second Piano Concerto. Much appreciated.

  • @JoeTownley this recording... no audience

  • @JoeTownley Well, the seats ARE empty.

  • @atjnAdfhhjea Yes, if I had just opened my eyes a little more I might have noticed that. Mystery solved.

  • lol, epic, the candle blew out at 2:42

  • Godowsky was a wanker.

  • i like his pace, some people think playing this as fast as possible makes it sound good

  • amazing clarity but evgeny kissin wins hands down when it comes to dynamics

  • @Zuukarimoto Wins what?

  • @Maddolis i mean he has more clarity

  • @Zuukarimoto What I meant was it's not a competition- though I'm not disagreeing with you.

  • @Maddolis i ddnt mean that it was a competition, perhaps i should have used different words

  • Berezovsky plays with such clarity (and this video's sound quality is great too)... a few other versions on youtube are a bit faster, but I think this is the best version I've seen regardless.

The Godowsky version is stunning, as well.

  • i think godowsky version has better tone

  • KAAATHERRRIIIINE!!!!

  • KAAATHERRRIIIINE!!!!

  • Oh please I could do that: man if I had three hands he'd really be in for it!!

  • the only version i have heard that can stand toe-to-toe with richter's

  • sustain effect! ;)

  • just wrapped this piece up like 10 minutes ago, but it doesnt sound like this! he's so awesome:)

  • Comment removed

  • not as awesome as the mr rogers version that ends with "I'm so proud to be your friend"... because it's lacking the sweater.

  • shit... :O

  • Richter would find this wanting :)

  • Thalberg and Liszt better watch out for Godowsky's two handed effect! =P

  • that's one of the most exceptional and accurate version that I've ever listened to my beloved Revolutionary Étude. He must be insanely proud of himself, indeed.

  • godowsky est un grand malade

  • lol

  • twisted awsome, umbelievable.

  • Boris=Beast

  • @XxShishouxX you should say brezovsky,in France there are a lot of Boris,including me,lol

  • Unbelievable... O.O

  • Grande! Grandissimo!

  • If i was Boris i would be sipping some tea on my right hand while i play this. That would be Epic.

  • wwwwwwwwoooooooooooooooowwwwwwww

  • If I every injure my right hand I'll definetely learn his version.

It's a left hand etude on a left hand etude!

  • What a wonderfully artistic rendition. Most people blaze through it all like a chicken with its head cut off.

  • Stupendous, stunning!

  • he is truly gifted. great performance.

  • I had a bet that I can learn to play this..

Hfff, guess I'm growing an extra arm then..

  • Berezovsky is one of my favourite pinaists. Fantastic interprte

    ation of this music peace.

  • A true revolution! The Godowsky version has great poetry.

  • so clear...best version on youtube

  • I'll cut my hands off!

    He is absolutely awesome!

  • WOW!!!!!!

  • That guy has VERY LARGE HANDS! And he puts them to good use!

  • @jwbeg that's what she says :-DDD

  • Now I know what to learn next time I break my right wrist! hahaha

  • BRAVO.i wonder if his hands would get tired or not....its so amazing...

  • @ZZZelaine you should see his incredible feat, he played every one of Liszt's Transcendental Etudes in one seating, twice!

  • BRAVO.

  • I have attended at his concert, was very amazing :)))

  • veeeeeeeeeeery good !!! perfect pedal.. perfect timing, perfect dynamic... loved it... !!!

  • 7 people can't play it with one hand... wait that means that 216 people can? oh SH*** :-D also really good... no god like job you are my idol :-)

  • @vojtap006 to pouze znamena ze tedka to bude mit 223 disliku :-D

  • incredible!!! BRAVO!!

  • Good but it does'nt match Richters early hair raising account, in fact who could these days!. Having said that though, Volodos could be the man.

  • The sounds are a bit too driven.

It 's true that it is also his way of playing, but this is too much!

Bravo!

  • Non de Zeus !!!

  • I don't like the phrasing at all - there are peculiar minor syncopations. the plot of the piece is completely lost.

  • I prefer Valentina Lisitsa's version but this one's very impressive too.

  • Wow. Just. WOW.

  • OMG bunch of mistakes

it is not revolutionary but collapse of Soviet Union :(

  • @TheRuslanIsmayil I'd like to see you play it any better.

  • Amazing the Part with the left hand!

I'm trying to learn this etude! And when i've mastered something like this i'll fo sure feel amazing!

  • God that was amazing! I never new someone else made another version, it was so cool!

  • I love that little 2:40 hand motion xD <---dramatic!

  • Whatever you wize people say, I just enjoy!

  • I miss only one thing in this video. VERY LONG applaud.

  • Left hand version was amazing!

  • i dont like the Godowsky version because it seems to be in C sharp minor which i dont like for this

  • @BlazeKenny

BlazeKenny - I'm really looking forward to seeing you play your OWN one handed version of this, in C minor. Those extra black keys must be too easy for you.....

  • @RichieT68 So firstly, its C SHARP minor. and I dont like it just musically, never said its easier.

Secondly, I admit the Godowsky version is only handled by the most virtuoso pianists.

HOWEVER, the "extra black keys must be too easy for you" statement isnt true. Its very well known, that for example E major scale is easier than C major scale because it has got the black keys which are more natural for a human hand.

  • @BlazeKenny You missed my point. I was suggesting that as you don't like this C SHARP MINOR version you arrange and play your own version for one hand in C MINOR.

I was being sarcastic anyway - for which I apologise.

It just sounds like you're being a little fussy - it's a very different version to the original! The reason that the Godowsky version is written in C sharp minor is precisely because the black keys make it 'easier' - which you acknowledged yourself in your previous post!

  • OMG

  • Szopen był Polakiem

    Chopin was a Pole

  • There is really no doubt about how good Berezovsky is...

  • lol one handed wow

  • This is so obviously not challenging this beast at all. Amazing rendtion!

  • impressive

Bravo. ;)

  • not good at all. If the right hand does the "rubato", the left should be "conductor". It isn't possible that the left hand delay too long on breaks that are not written.

  • @picchi93 I'm sorry dude. I wasn't sure if you were saying his performance wasn't good at all. I would like to see you do what he did with one hand, with two players, using all of your hands.

  • @naterc93 Sorry man. THIS is an "Etude" not a "walk-in-the-park". It has a certain rigor =)

  • O_O

  • -perfect

  • obvious troll is obvious, it's revolutionary! lol

  • Is he typing on his laptop ? Cause it looks like it x).

  • at 0:46 when he turns his head to the side, he looks kind of like gyorgy cziffra

  • This is an excellent interpretation of Chopin's last etude of Opus 10, but Berezovsky shouldn't be using the sustain pedal as indicated by Chopin. Without the sustain pedal, it's an excellent workout for your left hand, as it was intended.

  • @kris7c1 well this is his interpretation of the piece.

  • @kris7c1 of course with pedal.show me only one interpretation without.

btw why its not also a good exercise with pedal?

  • So crisp and clean. I LOVE this version, but it makes me sound so awful. lol

  • O-O WoW! This is the best version I heard yet. And the sound quality is AWESOME! Best video yet!

  • I have two hands... what for? :) Congratulations.

  • i really like his 10/12 he doesnt rush through the beggining like a lot of people

  • I love the way he always looks so incredibly bored when he's playing. Like it's just too easy for him. Reminds me of Horowitz.

  • Bravo

  • i think his tempo was off in a few places, too fast for some parts

  • @CobaltTiNor-- What the heck you talking about !!!!! whoever you are, I'd like to see you get your mug in front the camera and show what you can do!!! If you can even do that with one hand. Your talk is cheap!! keep your B.S. to yourself~!!

  • @jett5689

listen... why don't you come down off of your high horse aight. I was just voicing my personal opinion which wasn't that negative to begin with.

I didn't say what he did was bad and no... I can't do half of that, and I bet you couldn't do half of that yourself. so shut the hell up.

  • so he played the song 2 times, once with one hand?

  • OMG with just ONE haaaaand:O:Owoooooa

  • and it so clear

    not so pedal

  • what a descrimination of the tonalities

c sharp is so useful and handy

  • it's wonderful! :D

  • this piece still belongs to richter

  • When you see his Liszt, you wont be amazed how controlled his hands can be, this is just warm-up for his hands LOL

  • WOW!!! your very impressive! i love the arrangement with the left hand, very very impressive. it sounds like your using both hands. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! 10/10

  • he is one of the big pianists out there - you should check out his work!

  • @kiwimaniaboy It was not posted in YouTube by Berezovsky. :P

  • @kiwimaniaboy Why are you saying "you're"... this guy is a famous pianist.
