you may have put to much water around the plugs also with high dollar cars you have a lot of computers and sensors if you have access to a air compressor, before starting the car take the air and blow the engine off and all connecters so that way moister doesn't cause any sensor lights to come on than you can start the car.
About pricing.... You say it would depend on the type/condition of car?? so....... more expensive cars, you can charge more for?? Just asking... Also, about taking out seats... These luxury vehicles have those electric adjustable seats... How do you get the seats out...?
Yes it does depend on the type and condition if its a coupe, sedan, suv.some cars are a lot more dirty and is priced accordingly, normally there is only 4 bolts some cars differ, with so many electrical components, and computers make sure the ignition key is off unplug connectors remove seats make sure you do not turn the ignition switch on it will cause the check engine light to come on as well as the airbag light
I love it how you want to rag on people you say dont ''know'' how to detail but yet you generalize that all toyotas are 4 cylinders and that American cars never have the spark plug tubes going down on overhead cam engines. Know nothing about engines fail
@thirdcoastpimp although I truly feel as though $500 plus is worth all the time and effort to get perfection(especially on high dollar vehicles) during detailing, I find that here in my city of Augusta, 100 bucks is about all you can expect to get for a great detailing job. Even from the wealthy patrons. I wish I could get as much as you do. Lol.
i tip my hat off to you if you get what you say you are getting thats great.i remove swirls, scratches, imperfections,my customers always come back,so that alone speaks for its self.
Good Info!!! I've been detailing for 3 years now and i happy to know all that you said I've been doing!!! 1thing, I'll give a general price until I see the car...some people are FILTHY!!!
Well it looks like you kind of know what your doing. You really should wipe the road tar off after your wash the car otherwise you will just scratch it by rubbing all the dirt in a circle. Also you didn't mention using a clay bar and you have your buffing wheel and spray bottle set on top of the car. Your just creating more work for yourself by scratching your customers car. Also there is a detail shop called Final Touch here in Seattle. Did they steal your name? Don't worry they suck!
he knows what hes talking about hes a real professional detailer i detail cars aswell and i agree with everything he says the price is fair considering he probably pays rent and what not , I detail next to my body shop i cut the shop in half half detail half body shop so i charge about 100-200 for a full detail
ha a car isn't that important i mean it's going to get right back dirty after you drive about 5-15 miles thats way to much money. when you could do all that your self
your exactly right people don't understand how to detail, 150 is good if you can get it for it most cars are probably bout 200 just because cars aree so big nowadays i don't do as much detailing as you do just because i don't have the experience i've been detailing my families cars for about 7 years now i'll clean the wheels ,the windows, seats, carpet, engine, door jambs the only thing i don't do is buff. it takes a lot of skill and i don't have the money to get a new paint job everytime lol
get a cyclo polisher then mate, easiest things to use with excellent results, cannot burn or gouge the paint with them and they fix swirls up in no time!
A little long, but good info, a lot of people do not know the difference. When they hear the price for a detail, they'll think its way to much, not knowing that their car will be cleaned inside and out, not just washed.
