@gopherproduction43 Yes, those parts can be resin cast too, some modders have done it and they work well if made properly with the right materials.
So far, i have not needed to reinforce the stock catches in any of my modded Longshots, even when they use up to 20+ kg load springs. I guess its possible that they could wear out or break eventuality, so it could be good to resin cast some spares just in case.
Just when I think that Ive seen it all....this pops up. Love it love it love it. Can one, just wondering here, try to make even more advanced molds? like long shot bolt sleds? or recon plungers? given that they had enough silicon puddy and enough epoxy? I know I saw a epoxy long shot bolt sledonline. The main thing I want to do with this is epoxy molded catch mechanisims and a epoxy molded RF-20 trigger.
@wdcpsycho In this demo example, i used Devcon "Plastic Steel" Epoxy as the casting material. You can read the full build guide with all the info at my Mod Works site (link is in the video description box).
@RupertAndCheese Yes, a 2 part mold can be done too, so that it would result in an exact replica of the part... but i was going more for functionality and ease of molding, 'cos i only need to replicate the right side of the trigger as thats the only side that requires part detail for the catch spring to mount on. :)
@RupertAndCheese Yeah, i know what you mean... i prefer perfectly cast parts too (especially when replicating my scale models), but the "easy and convenience" side of me went for base functionality instead, haha. :)

Hi SGNerf,
I was wondering if this is able to work on things like a longstrike or longshot catch.
If it does, does the longshot catch always need to be reinforced?
Thank you.

@skullface1818 Yes, molds and castings can be made for many other blaster parts, larger castings would just require more material to complete. :)

@versatilechicken Yes, other catch parts can be made too.

Sgnerf which part of SG do you play your nerf wars? The dart you used looks like the one i found under my block :)
GoldenHorsePictures 5 months ago
@GoldenHorsePictures The NerfSG forum guys organize Nerf games everywhere, so i guess there was a Nerf game near your place recently.
Btw... i'm not the only one using those red foam darts, quite a number of the other players also use them too. :)

Damn.... U are damn smart sia. XD
Now we can diy our own replacement parts for our guns.
Thx. XD

Nice, but you should use a two-part mould so that you get an exact duplicate, rather than one half of it being weird.

Is the better catch the only improvement? Are they sturdier?
Missingno40 5 months ago
@Missingno40 Yes, they are stronger than the stock plastic catches.
