@crazyjoel123 Nope, it's a tornado...Confirmed ones too. You can clearly see the funnel leading up to the base and the funnel itself takes on the color of whatever substance (dirt, clay, sand, debris) it picks up.
@ThePituka111 It is a tornado and i can prove it! I was there when 2 tornadoes touched down in Moreno Valley and Perris CA. It was my sister's birthday and there was terrible hail and the sky was sickly green, the signs of a tornado. Also there was lightning
@ThePituka111 Actually a dirt devil IS a dirt devil in the absence of a thunderstorm...Even if this were a dirt devil (it is, in fact, a confirmed EF-2 tornado...a total of 4 tornadoes formed this same day) because it was formed under the base of a thunderstorm it would be considered a tornado.
Man i live in tornado valley and we get at least one tornado touchdown near my house during tornado season... But and EARTHQUAKE..... Never in my life... Oh BTW i live in central Arkansas near little rock.
man ive been living in cali for 10 years and i thot it was not possible for that to happen... and the oner day in 2010 not 2008 the scy was yellow and everything oustside was a tinted yellow color and i knew in some states that meant hurricane and tornado at 1 time... and so alter that night i came back up frum my friends house and i saw a funnel shapped cloud forming in the sky but it diddnt touch the ground... it only spun around in the air.. but still it was right by my house :p
its rare to get a torando in ca where i live but only if there is a servere thunder storm before it was hailstones falling small ones and i was at school it was awesome the toranado only lasted 10 sec
Tornadoes are not anything new to California. In fact, They happen once a year in Californian... well... Tornadoes like this at least. Then with all the fires that SoCal has, we have Fire Tornadoes all the fucking time. Youtube that. Also, we have earthquakes... And landslides... And Floods... oh boy, isn't California great?
yeah we all know you guys have better ones out there.. but california has like never had any.. Its just amazing you got one.. but california better then that place anyways =)
wow thanks for posting this.. i was freaking out at work today when i saw the warning on the tv in the break room. this is so incredible. i've lived in ca my whole life.... never heard of this happening before... so crazy/scary.
This wasn't today's tornado, this was posted in 2008. I was born & raised in Cali and while not incredibly common, tornadoes & waterspouts DO happen when the weather is nuts (el nino, usually).
Its weird tornados happen in those kind of places because you never suspect it. In ugly places like oklahoma you should know all the time your getting a tornado abd also kansas and sometimes colorado but colorados the best! except miami miamis the best best! So shut up LOL!
I was born and raised in Sacramento,Ca and have been living in Oklahoma for the past 8 years. There is nothing "ugly" about Oklahoma, its a great place to live and raise a family. So Oklahoma gets Tornados, big deal!. Cali gets earthquakes, you get hurricanes in the lower south and east coast. Every state and region has their bad types of weather.
@naderchaser Type two tornado, not spawned from a tornadic supercell. You're absolutely correct, it's a landspout. This tornado is spawned from a storm, so it is a tornado. Most people only see the footage of the type 1 tornadoes, which are the ones we see a lot in tornado alley. That's why some people think these are dust devils or gustnadoes. It does have a visible funnel also, which some don't seem to notice in this video. You're right, it is a tornado.
i remember this. The Riverside area is notorious for funnel cloud formations. Most of them never touch down though. I live in Arcadia, which is about 5 miles east of Pasadena, and we've had a few tornado warnings.
i used to live in Perris a couple years back .. i miss it, weird i didnt know about this tornado haha... Perris is a small developing city now isnt it...?
hm...whats a dust tornado?? a "dust" tornado is called a dust devil and Dust devils form as an updraft under sunny conditions during fair weather. I dont know about you but i dont see any sun and i deff. do not see a clear sky in this video...So this is a TORNADO. &he is in a safe distance from it. Wow kid do some research before you start being a "Smart ass."
tornadoes can happen anywhere. They're just rare in some states...There has been water spouts off the coasts of California, thats basically what we usually get when "there are" storms...
tornado in CA, wow well the end of all human cuz of the earth is being destroyed of pollution and stuff, forest fires and stuff oh well we die we die all.
lol, this is not unusual. if u lived in so cal ur whole life, every year theres always a couple tornados. this is not a sign of the world ending or anything stupid like that, theres nothing to be worried about.
I have lived ibn SO Cal for most of my life and have not heard of this. But then again,I'm not big on watching the news and TV as much as many people.Lived out of state for a few years too.But to derail 9 train cars and a big rig is no small potatoes.
hey i live in mo-vall and that is one freaky thing and i saw it from my back yard!Well it looks like it could rain soon so keep an eye open and stay safe lol well the freak stuff thats been going on lately there may be a 3rd one(maybe but highly un-likely).
Yes, what with the weather cutting in half from over 100 drgrees to in the fiftees, there's no telling. But I am keeping my camera batteries charged just in case.
there is no such thing as "quake weather", the weather and earthquakes just doesn't correlate . This whole "earthquake weather" crap started only because the 1994 Northridge quake happened to have occured during Santa Ana winds. Tornados can happen in California too but they are just so rare ,it has nothing to do with the end of the world, a short-lived tornado hit near here (about 40 miles west of Malibu, Pt. Mugu area) earlier this year in January.
Well, I don't know about all that...I am sure many people agree that weather can have something to do with earthquakes and many who do not.None of us really know for sure,so I prefer to hear both sides and take it for face value. There have been other tornadoes, but I just hapenned to have a live eyewqitness video of one.
Actually there still might be a huge earthquake! days before the earthquake in China they reported frogs everywhere! now the same is happening in So Cal, Frogs everywhere!
quite a shame, I'm in the San Fernando Valley, in the Porter Ranch area, we have had no rain, just wind, this video is amazing.
No, the world is not coming to an end, tornadoes are actually really rare in SoCal, but are part of the ordinary weather patterns in the desert areas during this time of the year when they receive monsoonal storms.
Since I have moved to the Inland Empire, the heavy winds have not ceased to amaze me, but this did amaze. There was rain, some wind, thunder, lightning, the tornado,a tiny bit of hail I think, and then more rainstorm.Quite the weather.
I just hope you and your family are alright, that is some scary stuff, particularly here in SoCal, I would have been expecting an earthquake, because you know what they call this type of weather; quake weather! It was like 110 degrees like 3 days ago, now it's cool again, yikes!!
skifio1234 the world is ending we are in the endtimes read the revalation in the holy bible they talk about all whats gonna happend. Everybody you need to asscept christ because jesus is coming soon
Many things are prophesied in the Bible.I don't think they all have hapenned yet, so I don't know that this is saying the world is over, but I do agree that we should all realize that just as soon as a storm strikes, the end can strike also.So we should reealize that our time is precious.
If you check the news info for Perris CA (Inland Empire) you will see that this was INDEED a tornado that caused some real damage. If it turned over a big rig and train cars, I'd have to say it is a tornado.
