  • This is an german cake und called "Kalter Hund".. in english "cold dog" ;)

  • In norway we call that cake: delfia cake cus teh Chopa you use is Delfia butter in norway

  • In Germany this Cake is a typical childrens birthday cake. it´s called "Kalte Hundeschnauze". Which means "Cold dog´s nose". as the cookies we normally use Bahlens Butterkekse, butter cookies. a little bit like shortbread, but crispier and not so dry.

    the recepie for that cake was first ever seen in an german cookbook from the german cookie-company "Bahlsen".

    maybee it was invented from anybody else but its officialy a german cake^^

  • Well i tried it without the copha couldn´t find it anywhere here in Spain, i used korn butter instead... it wasn´t that bad but the chocolate got really hard when i put it on the fridge... :S

  • If you make it with butter, be sure to cut down the liquid. Butter has more liquid than vegetable shortening, so if you leave the liquid as written, you'll end up with a soupy mess.

  • @dazzleglassbeauty copha is only produced in australia, that would be why they dont sell it where you live. and you can use any other shortening instead, but i have read that you can use butter instead however copha or shortening is typically used instead of butter as it wont burn

  • @dazzleglassbeauty It's just shortening. It's the same thing as Crisco if you live in Canada or the States. Not sure what it's called anywhere else
